It started with research on how nature can shape the way children learn. 🌱 That research became my CDP, my ideas turned into a vision, and that vision took me BEYOND Sri Lanka all the way to a school in the mountains, something I had always dreamed of. Sometimes, the work we do while studying becomes the beginning of something much bigger.#devindart #artistsoninstagram #landscapearchitecture # by @_devindart__

වෙස් | WES 🎭🇱🇰

Every mask has a story.

Introducing WES — an original visual storytelling project inspired by Sri Lankan folklore, traditional performance, and village culture.

Meet Naari, Putha & Gamini — three characters, three personalities, and three stories within one world.

A GLIMPSE INTO PUTHA’S STORY

This post offers a small scene from Putha’s world — just a glimpse of the character behind the mask.
His story has only just begun.

And somewhere behind them, another character remains hidden… 👀

Every character, mask, costume, personality, and storyline was conceptualised and digitally designed by me.

AI was used as a creative tool to explore and develop the enhancement of the characters, cinematic environments, lighting, atmosphere, and visual presentation.

The story is mine. The characters are mine. AI is simply one of the tools I used to bring this world to life.

The masks are on.
The story begins.

NIRU — THE SILENT PROVOKER. 🎭

He watches.
He waits.
He understands.

Niru rarely speaks, but his presence is enough to make you question what comes next. Behind that unsettling grin lies a mind that observes every weakness, every reaction, every opportunity.

Mysterious • Cunning • Observant

A new character enters the story.
And this time… he’s already watching.

NAARI — The Masked Storyteller 🎭🌺

A character born from the colours, rhythms, and stories of Sri Lankan village culture.
Naari wears a traditional mask, but behind it lives a woman full of grace, curiosity, playfulness, and quiet strength.

Through movement, expression, and dance, she transforms forgotten folklore into living stories — carrying the spirit of tradition into a new generation. 🇱🇰

This character exploration brings together Sri Lankan heritage, traditional costume, mask culture, and contemporary character design into one visual identity.

Graceful • Expressive • Vibrant

🎭 Meet Gamini The Masked Storyteller.

A wandering performer who doesn’t just tell stories… he becomes them.
With his bold mask, dramatic expressions, playful energy, and traditional Sri Lankan-inspired attire, Gamini turns every corner into a stage.

From village festivals to unexpected adventures, there’s always a story waiting behind the mask. 👺✨
