🎓Studying - Leadership through Outdoor Adventure

POSTS STORIES REELS

Hey, I’m Emma and welcome to my page 👋🏻
Do you work in the outdoors?

Here’s my journey from school into the outdoor industry as a young female instructor 🌅⛰️📸 I’m now studying an undergrad in Leadership through Outdoor Adventure so trying to use my page to reach other women who are interested in anything outdoorsy and discover how to make the industry more inclusive and supportive for women trying to gain qualifications. Once I start my research project I will be posting surveys and interviews requests 😁
Thanks for reading

VW Caddy Maxi Conversion 🚐
Meet Wally - my little home on wheels. Despite current mechanical problems, I have loved the conservion process and trying out making different things. I can’t wait to see where I take him in the future 🏔️🏕️✨

Throwback to the spring when the van was still alive 😥 Reminiscing on the sunny nights and days days at the beach now that the season of leaving and returning home in the dark has started and I’m back in London 🌃

Another great caving trip! My second time caving and my first time doing the abseils 🪨🔦 What a fun trip, I can’t wait to do it all again 😁 by @_emmasmyth_

Last week I had the most amazing time on a kayaking coaching course, to develop my skills in grade 2/3 white water. @greenwaveguiding and @maxwellgeorgina were incredible coaches and they facilitated our learning very well, giving useful feedback and pushing me out of my comfort zone. Their encouragement made the course super enjoyable 😁
I found it especially helpful to practice specific drills on the smoother water before jumping onto Grandtully rapids and the River Garry. I even had a little go at surfing a small wave. The group were so welcoming and it created a lovely environment for everyone to learn without judgement and practice, even if I did have 2 swims 🌊 #kayaking #whitewater #paddling by @_emmasmyth_

Amazing first time in a cave. Thanks so much Arlen for taking us I can’t wait to do more. Turns out being a slug feels natural to me 😅 by @_emmasmyth_

Summer time ☀️🌊⛰️ loving the long evenings and sunny weather. Didn’t manage to talk myself over the big abseil but got over the tiny one so little wins 🥴😅 Days filled with many ice creams 🍦 by @_emmasmyth_
