I remember being in the hospital room, waiting for your arrival like it was yesterday. 4 days of active labor, only for you to be delivered by emergency C-section. You were early, of course, but perfectly healthy.

The first time I held you, I felt so scared and so in love. You were suddenly everything that mattered to me.

My best friend, my biggest accomplishment.

Happy 12 birthday to you, Maximus. ✨

You are growing into the best young man. Creative, funny, intelligent, loyal, kind, and so full of sass.

I cannot wait to see where the world takes you, but I’ll always be here to welcome you home.

Girlhood ✨

On film + phone

My bachelorette party was a literal dreamland, curated by the best friends a girl could ask for.

A sunny beach on Lake Michigan, a beautiful garden and space to gather, long talks under the stars, and deep connection.

My soul hasn’t felt this refreshed in a long time. Each unique in their own way, these women have changed my life. They all quietly slipped their way in and now I could never imagine it without them. I could never thank them enough for the light they have brought me, so I will just keep loving them forever as repayment.

What a lucky woman I am to be so well loved. 🖤 by @_goldmoon

I’m an astronaut, you’re the moon 🌕

Thank you to @jemini_photo for these incredible photos. I am so grateful for her friendship and her amazing ability to capture the most beautiful moments in life. by @_goldmoon

Max’s piano instructor at The Music Center of South Central Michigan held a recital tonight for students to play music written by all women composers, for women’s history month!

Maximus up on stage, once again! It brings me so much joy to see him perform. by @_goldmoon

When @shotsbymarquis offers to photograph you, you simply ask “what should I wear?”

Honestly though, for most of my life I haven’t felt very comfortable in front of the camera. I usually hide in the back of every photo I can. But I have been trying to see myself in a different light and this session really delivered.

Marquis is so wildly talented and it’s really been a joy to watch him grow as an artist. And it is a true honor to be photographed by him and see his vision come to life.

These deserved a place on the grid!

Thank you to the incredibly talented @mollgrune who captured these amazing photos for us. I couldn’t have asked for a more talented, kind, and hilarious photographer. Molly made us feel so good our entire session, it was like hanging out with an old friend.

We were able to sneak Max into a few as well. Can’t tell our story without our favorite guy included!

I know we’re already technically married, but I just can’t wait to celebrate with everyone next year officially.

I get to marry my best friend for a second time, surrounded by all our loved ones and I just know it’s going to be the best! by @_goldmoon

My sweet babe is 11!
Happy birthday, Maximus Owen 🦁

My very best friend, my everything.

My not so little best bud! Max has grown so much over the last year. He is kinder and more thoughtful and intentional, though he is still a goofy kid at heart. He has made plenty of mistakes, and has learned a new lesson with each one. He is intelligent and loves to take on new challenges.

This is a big year for him, as he steps into middle school. I’m sure it will come with all new responsibilities and possibilities. And we are excited to be with him every step of the way.

We love you, Max! by @_goldmoon

Surprise! We got married!

Yesterday, surrounded by some of our closest friends and family, we had a small ceremony in our very own backyard.

With Big G’s diagnosis, we knew we needed to move our timeline up a bit so that she had the ability to walk me down the aisle like we had planned.

It was the perfect evening and I am so thankful for all of the people who jumped into action to make this happen in less than 3 weeks.

I am now the proud wife of Nathan, and I couldn’t be happier! I got to marry my very best friend with our incredible son right beside us. We have had a nontraditional journey and I really do love that about us. Everything happened in its own time, and its own way. And every moment leading up to this has been worth it.

Thank you to Jemini Photo for these beautiful sneak peeks. I cannot thank Jenna enough for her skill, talent, and friendship.

PS, we will still be having a big ceremony next year and we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone then! by @_goldmoon

My baby got his first leading role as Charlie in Willy Wonka and it was such a joy to witness his hard work!

This is Max’s 11th show and he has improved so much! He went from a shy little bread maker in Aladdin, to staring in the show and singing his whole heart out.

Catch me crying at today’s performance because I’m just so proud. 🍫🩵 by @_goldmoon
