SKIN closed.

First solo show. Studio Karaköy, July.
I didn’t plan any of this not the show, not moving to Istanbul five years ago, not painting for a living. Things just kept happening and I kept saying yes.

The work was about what’s under the skin and doesn’t want to come out. People stood in front of it longer than they meant to. That’s all I wanted.

⭕️ Curated by Brim, who left it exactly as uncomfortable as it needed to be.
⭕️ Shot by Svetlana - go look at the photos of people’s faces, not the paintings.
⭕️ Flowers by OH’A, the one soft thing in the room.

Next thing is already moving. Not saying what yet. #istanbul #art #gallery #exhibition by @_ilonamak_
