11 truths about myself I’m not afraid to share. Which one sounds like you? by @_mariam_unfiltered

Healing my fear of visibility is one of the most daring things I’ve done. I hope this inspires you to cut out the mental illusion and Do that thing you want to do. We only have one life to live and it shouldn’t be spent in fear. What’s one fear you’re ready to face today? #creativecourage #visibility #mariamunfiltered #vulnerableAndStrong #fyp by @_mariam_unfiltered

The gag is I’m not even my best me YET by @_mariam_unfiltered

The year was 2016. I had finished secondary school 2 years earlier and thought I was cursed because I couldn’t get into the University that year again despite scoring 256 in Jamb and 60% in UI’s post UTME. I cried day and night asking God why he hated me. It was even worse having to log into Facebook and watch your friends post about their matriculation or either listen to their gist about Uni during holiday. 2016 was the year I got a call from my childhood friend(who later became my boyfriend). He said we have to break up cos he gave his life to Christ (Jesus don collect your boyfriend before?😭🤣). All in all, Life was good, I loved to draw my brows, dress up and take pictures. Friendship was easy. All we wanted to talk about was boys, school and new novels to read. Oh and to post freely on facebook without giving a hoot about aesthetics. 10 years later and I have long forgotten about Uni, can’t even remember my matric number. I’m making this post to remind myself and everyone that we all live in different timelines and to trust in the unfolding of your own life. Life is transient and it doesn’t matter what we want, once we get it, we want something else. 10 years later and I’m still open to the mystery of becoming.🫶🏽 by @_mariam_unfiltered
