Happy birthday to my girl, Blakey! I don’t like it one bit that you’re about to be an 8-year-old (and my height). I want to go back in time to kiss you, squeeze your cheeks more, and play hide and seek with you because one of these days you won’t want to anymore. It’s the weirdest feeling to be missing you even while you’re beside me.

The last 8 years have flown by but I’m thankful for each day we’ve been together. Thank you for being the kindest daughter with the biggest heart. I’m so proud of you and I’m thankful that God brought you into our lives. I promise to cherish you always. I hope you enjoy your birthday and everything we planned for you. I love you so much. ♥️🩷💜 by @_michellechon

To my favorite bro:

Thanks for loving on me and my friends this weekend! You did so much for us! I hope to return the favor someday even if it means baking you endless amounts of sourdough loaves and grinding you peanut butter. 😘 Love you Michael Adrian ♥️ by @_michellechon

Happy birthday my love!

I know this past year has had many challenges but I’m blessed by how you managed it all. I know at times it’s been difficult getting out of bed physically and mentally but you try your best and you continue trusting in God to help you.

You are my superhero and I’m so proud to be the woman by your side.

I promise to continue throwing anti-inflammatory foods at you and encouraging you to hit the gym so you can continue being there for everyone you love. Most importantly, I’ll keep praying for you to be the man God has called you to be.

I feel like through the years God has made you stronger and wiser mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. So, keep doing what you’re doing because you’re aging in the best possible way.

I love you and I can’t wait to celebrate you all week! ♥️ by @_michellechon

Now I can cross NY off my bucket list. Too many core memories made with the amazing church women in my life. I loved every moment with them. Thank you Ron and Ashley for your hospitality and for showing us your New York! ♥️ by @_michellechon

I know I’m two days late but whatevs

Happiest of birthdays to my not so baby boy.

I have watched you grow into this cake-loving, nose-picking, game-playing, five-year-old and I have loved every moment of it (even when you flick your boogers at me).

Thank you for making us laugh and definitely keeping us on our toes all day long. We love you so much. You are my favorite son, don’t forget it. by @_michellechon

This weekend was too special not to share with you guys. Every year without fail, I plan a bday celebration including my whole family. I like to spoil them at least once a year, on my birthday. This year, it was Japanese food! Most of the time, we are incomplete but regardless, I’m always thankful to spend time with whoever can make it.

(For some back story and context) Also this year, I asked Alex if we could get bomb food and stay overnight at a hotel. My kids LOVE staying at hotels and we always use our Chase points for a room. Normally, we stay at The Double Tree bc we love their cookies and how reasonably priced their rooms are, haha! But this year, we asked my bro (one of the managers at the Maybourne in Beverly Hills) if he could help us get a room there. He said yes! :)

So after leaving lunch with my family, we headed to Beverly Hills.

Little did I know, my little brother had something else planned up his sleeves. He got a room not just for me and my family but for our siblings, their families, and our parents too! Check out the last part of the post for my real time reaction.

This weekend was more than I could have ever dreamed of. It’s been more than 10 years since we last did something like this ALL TOGETHER. And, we have NEVER stayed at a five star hotel before. I’m so happy I could cry.

Thank you A for spoiling us this weekend. Thank you to my loving family for sacrificing a lot to spend time with me. I love you all so much!

And if you read all the way through, you’re awesome! ♥️ by @_michellechon

First visit of the year by @_michellechon

The last quarter of the year went by so fast. It’s like I blinked and 2026 was here.

Is it ok that I’m kind of glad 2025 is over because it was one of the hardest years for our family? With the loss of our beloved Dad, sometimes it felt like our whole world was crumbling.

But God,…

In Ephesians 2:4-5, Paul writes, “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—“.

I don’t know how we would have endured all of the past trials without Jesus. Oh how I praise Him for helping us get through 2025 unscathed.

I have much to leave behind in 2025 but one thing I will be taking with me into the new year is my unwavering faith in the Lord.

Happy New Year by @_michellechon

Happy Birthday to our sweet girl, Blakey.

It’s been a joy watching you develop into a funny, joyful, thoughtful, and loving little girl.

Even though you’re like a little teenager at times, I cherish the moments when you ask me to play with you and sleep by your side. I’ll never stop asking for all the kisses and hugs even though you get embarrassed in front of your friends now haha. I get excited when you want to do things independently but a part of me kind of aches too. I wish I could keep you little forever but I promise I am enjoying you as much at this age of 7 as I did at the age of 1.

Blakey, I’m your biggest fan and I am proud of everything you do, including the times when you sing and dance in front of a crowd or when you sing in the shower. You are so cool to me and I wish I were more like you.

I love you so much and I hope you have the best year ever. by @_michellechon

Most people look forward to their birthdays and holidays. I look forward to May and October because Dad would visit from Florida.

Each visit was nearly the same- Dad would frequent Sun Nong Dan and Zzamong, take our kids to the playground, tag along wherever we wanted to go, hit up the Korean grocery store, and spend hours butterflying and frying shrimp for us.

Dad never let us pay while he was here. He carried the kids and played with them endlessly. He never complained and always wanted to make things easier for us. One time, he even drove us around not knowing how badly Alex gets car sick. And when Alex threw up, he kept apologizing and felt so bad; he never offered to drive us again. 😂Nothing ever phased or offended him. He was calm and positive about everything. He also spoiled us. He’d buy me and my sis-in-law expensive cod (one for each of us), pay for our family’s water subscription, and always send each of us $100 for our birthdays. I have no doubt that Dad loved us so much and did all that he could to care for us selflessly.

I wish he visited us this past May but God had other plans. Dad got to visit his family in Dallas because he hadn’t seen them in years and that was the last time they would get to spend time with him again.

We lost our Dad on Sunday, July 6th to complications from the treatment of APL leukemia.

I wish I had thanked him more, told him I love him one last time. I wish I could see his smile again. I wish I could have done something for him during his last days. I miss him and I wish we had more time. More Mays and Octobers together.

Yet I trust in God’s perfect plan for us. I know He is our peace and comfort. I’m thankful Dad was never in pain and that his cancer battle is over. Most of all, I’m thankful that I got to be his daughter for half of my life. I praise God for Dad and the many memories I have with him. by @_michellechon

Happy Birthday BF!

What a joy it’s been growing up with you. I’ve seen how the Lord has worked in your life all these years and how you continue to do your best to glorify Him in everything. What an example you lead for all of us but especially me. I love how you listen and show interest in all the things I have to tell you, even if it’s about Korean dramas, vacations, and food. Haha. I love how you have become my accountability partner in many things like motherhood, health, nutrition, and best of all, godliness. Thank you for always being there for me and for the many memories we’ve shared together.

Have the best birthday. I love you so much! by @_michellechon

Happy Anniversary Love! 10 years! Can you believe it? Man, it flew by so quickly!

The beginning was rough- remember when I almost kicked the oven from being so angry at you or when I told you to shut up? Eek! I can still see the smoke coming out of your ears!

But then, as we aged in marriage, things grew sweeter because of God’s grace. Our marriage isn’t perfect but because God is, he helps us make one another better. Let’s continue to put Him first in everything.

Thank you for being patient with me all these years even though I can be so extra sometimes. Thank you for showing me grace in spite of my shortcomings. Thank you for loving me unconditionally. Thank you for being a prayerful and dependable husband who always points me to Christ. Thank you for keeping your marriage vows to me all these years.

I promise to continue to love and respect you each day and be the wife God has called me to be to you.

I look forward to the next 10, 20, 50+ years with you.

I love you Alex Jee Chon! Now let’s go celebrate! 🎊 by @_michellechon
