Pilla B’s verse on the Toronto street hit-record “Drownin’” w/ Moula 1st and PVRX, video directed by Flycam Beno and released in 2020 as a single off of Moula’s classic mixtape “Revenge.” Repping Rexdale, Pilla is 1 of the heavyweights and hit-makers of the Toronto underground rap scene. His ability to mix vivid and lyrical verses with more melodic and catchy harmonies has allowed him to remain relevant to multiple generations and wide audiences and gained him continued success into the streaming era, with singles like “Red Light” reaching 1.5 millions streams on Spotify alone. Pilla was raised in the Rex and moved to Brampton as a teenager, where he linked up with Yung Dubz and started collaborating together frequently, including releasing the classic joint album “6am”(2018). Pilla was also brought to 40’s studio SOTA by legendary Rexdale emcee Illy, where he would record with OVO’s musical mastermind and arguably the greatest producer in Canadian hiphop history. Pilla B has gone on to develop a catalogue of viral videos and hit-records that puts him among the top artists in the scene, and we salute his major contribution to the game. RIP Dubz and Illy. #pillab #drownin #6barstv by @_pillab
