hi ♡

This project is a reflection of my growth as a dancer and artist in the last few years. I have been through a lot of obstacles throughout my dance journey. Looking back, I do not regret anything as everything was meant to be and has helped me grow into the dancer and artist that I am today.

For my birthday in March, I wanted to represent my growth by doing something I love. This project represents my past self (person in black) and my present self (person in blue). My past self represents uncertainty, exploration, and curiosity. I was at a stage of finding my own identity as a dancer and exploring a style that captures the essence of my being.

My present self represents confidence, growth, and intention in my movements. I am exploring new styles and deepening my knowledge in styles that I know and honing my own style. Understanding myself and my identity as a dancer has pushed me to challenge myself in ways, I never thought I would or could do. It is such a beautiful thing to experience, and I am very grateful for every second of it. But it is important to remember that it is not a goodbye to my past self, but a thank you for all the achievements and the hardships I endured to allow my present self to shine.

I chose the song “Somebody” by Justin Bieber (I love Justin Bieber @lilbieber LOL) because the song resonates with me. It is about having someone who will always be there for you and to remind you that you are not alone. My true awakening is realizing that, that somebody is ME. Only I can truly push myself to keep moving forward. I will continue to remind myself that I am capable, and that I’ll love myself through all of it ♡
