SVIMS members have been invited to join this seminar on May 7th! by @_svims

Last week I had the great pleasure of presenting some of my mushroom artworks, and headed out into the woods of Metchosin for a fungi foray with @_svims ! Always such a pleasure working with SVIMs and getting to meet and learn from so many wonderful experts in the field, and what a beautiful day to get outside and forage for some drawing fodder! My kind of Easter egg hunt!

Here are some of my finds and field sketching notes from the outing, we found lots of fascinating blossoms and slime molds along the trek as well! What a lovely way to get out into the spring sunshine and learn about all the spring life from some great experts, and help to collect and document fungi for the @mycomapbc project.

Andrew Claassen visited @_svims from California this week to give a talk on water scarce mushrooms and run a foray! Their foray was focused on making collections for MycoMap BC! We went out on the saanich peninsula yesterday and managed to find lots of great fungi and slime moulds :) Several attendees learned how to make mycomap collections and made their first iNat observations! Thanks for coming all! by @_svims
