Don’t forget to go vote. It’s the cool thing to do. Besides I’m over living dystopia outside of my fantasy books. by @_tattooedleaves_

My new read for the month. I’m about a quarter of the way through and it is such a beautiful story. It is a slow burn with tension that just keeps on building.

I honestly have no opinion over the casting except I’m stoked to see this adaptation on screen. #butcherandblackbird #brynneweaver #castings by @_tattooedleaves_

I’m wondering did I miss the hype on this book? Or is it way under hyped? I spent the year rereading all my favourites because none of the new books I read did it for me. There were so many that just didn’t hit the mark. And I realized how many books have weak fmc’s. Until this one … Direbound by Sabel Sorensen. Meryn is the epitome of badassery. She gives zero flips and is ready to burn the world down for her sister. Yes it is very similar to Fourth Wing but with giant direwolves instead of dragons. It is much darker and snarkier than FW. It’s not cutesy funny. Stark while being a “bully” , he was giving off major enemies to lovers vibes. That man was yearning so hard. There is so much turmoil in this story. Abductions, betrayals, but also so many moments that made me kick my feet in anticipation. I knew Lee was not the it man. He gave off too much ick for me. I did find it funny they had Xadens voice (Gabriel Michael) for the male character. I’m glad I finally found a book that made me want to read the whole series at once, and got me out of my book slump.
