Being the kid of a teen mom I had the opportunity to grow up on and experience East Carolina University since I was 10 months old. I have known my whole life this was where I was meant to be. As a kid I always said “I wanna ride the big purple bus” and yesterday I became an ECU Alumna 🎓💜🏴‍☠️ To my brother, it’s been a joy being your sister and watching you grow. I hope I have been as much as an inspiration to you as you have been to me. You are my reason. I hope you continue this legacy mom has created as for us. 3rd generation pirate?? To my mom, I can’t thank you enough. I have witnessed you fight and conquer my whole life. I am who I am today because of the strong woman I watch you be. Thank you for bringing me along with you in your college experience. I’m sure it was not easy but you did it and now here I am following your foot steps. To my crew, thank yall for always being a leg for mom to cry on. All the late nights, yall laying your head on my laptop when I’m trying to do work, stepping on my books, etc. Yall held me down emotionally I love yall dearly 🫶🏻 by @_the.jt
💜 I would personally like to thank me for getting to this point 💜 Dear little me, this has been your dream since you were 2 years old. You went from running up and down the piano stairs, “riding the big purple bus” and knocking on random dorm room doors to walking the stage. You were destined for greatness! You overcame every challenge thrown at you and always walked with your head held high queen! To the growing woman, continue to walk through life with your head held high. Everything is what you make it, so make your journey great! You’ve accomplished and learned so much in life. Continue to value those lessons as they are shaping you into a phenomenal woman!
