Behind The Firebreak 🌿✨

Meet Kylea, Ace & Maggie - the little family behind the cabins.

The Firebreak didn’t start as a business plan. It started as a feeling… the kind of place we were always searching for ourselves. Somewhere you could step out of the noise, breathe deeper, and remember what it’s like to live slowly.

So, we built it - piece by piece - on our farm. With muddy boots, late nights, big dreams, and a whole lot of heart.

From the little details inside the cabins, to the way the light hits the paddocks at golden hour, everything here has been shaped by the life we’re living and the calm we want to share.

If you’ve stayed with us - thank you. If you’re dreaming of it - consider this your sign.

The quiet is waiting, the air is crisp, and there’s something special about being out here with nothing on the agenda except each other. 🤍🏡🌾

Turns out happiness is pretty specific.

It’s lighting the fire under the tub in the afternoon, pouring something local while it heats, and sinking in just as the sun starts dropping behind the ridge. It’s the quiet. It’s knowing nobody’s coming to share it.

Things we do to make your stay a little harder. On purpose.

There’s no Uber Eats, you’ll cook, or you’ll find the local pub. No smart TV - the fire needs tending if you want it going. Patchy signal in parts of the property. A hot tub that takes a couple of hours to heat.

Turns out a little friction is exactly what a proper reset needs.

Summer weekends here are going quietly. There are 6 left between now and February.

If you’ve been holding off because you think it’ll be too hot: both cabins are air-conditioned, the hot tub fills cold as a plunge pool, and the evenings stay light long enough for dinner on the deck.

If the weekends go, Sunday to Thursday is where we’d look. Quieter roads, the same view.

A little look back at a pretty special evening. ✨

Connected by Country was everything we hoped it would be and more. An evening full of incredible rural women, meaningful conversations, new connections and a whole lot of community spirit.

We’re still feeling incredibly grateful to everyone who came along, shared their stories, supported the event and helped bring it all together.

Here are a few of our favourite moments from the evening - a little reminder of just how special it is when people come together in the country.

To everyone who was part of it, thank you. This is exactly why we started Red Dirt Social - to create more opportunities for connection, culture and community right here in our own backyard.

A huge thank you to our event partners @rrrwomenqueensland and @groundandgrow_aus for making this the best possible event 🥹 we can’t wait until next year!

Here’s to more nights like this. 🤎 by @_thefirebreak

Are you giving your phone more attention than your partner?

No judgement. Ours are designed to be hard to put down.

Out here the signal is patchy enough that it stops being a choice. What’s left is dinner you cook together, and a conversation that actually makes it to the end.

WTF is farm hospitality?

Short version: it’s when the farm stay helps pay for the farm.
The Firebreak sits on 150 acres that we farm regeneratively.

Everything we do out here is about working with the land, not against it. The cabins came later, and they were never meant to turn the paddocks into a backdrop.

We share this place because we want people to see where their food can actually come from, and how it can be produced in a way that gives back to the land.

Every stay helps fund that work, and your farm taster pack is filled with pasture-raised produce from local farms around us, so the wider farming community benefits too.

The hospitality side isn’t a side hustle to the farm. It’s a big part of how small farms like ours keep going.

That’s farm hospitality, our way. Come stay and see it for yourself.

We recently enjoyed an incredible luxury farm stay at @_thefirebreak nestled in the beautiful South Burnett region only 2.5 hours from Brisbane.

Set on a working cattle farm these beautiful cabins have everything you need for the perfect country getaway.

From the outdoor wood-fired spa and cosy indoor fireplace to the stunning countryside views, surrounded by cattle and horses.

Be sure to add this beautiful farm stay to your bucket list for your next weekend getaway from Brisbane!

We’re the most connected generation in history. Somehow, also the loneliest.

Everyone’s reachable, all the time, and somehow that’s made it harder to actually be with anyone. A notification isn’t a conversation. A group chat isn’t a night together.

The people who feel closest to their partner, their friends, their own thoughts, are usually the ones who put the phone down first.

That’s the whole premise here. Come be unreachable for a weekend. Link in bio. by @_thefirebreak

A two-night escape to @_thefirebreak? Yes please.

We’re giving one lucky guest at Connected by Country the chance to win a two-night stay at The Firebreak.

But this one’s exclusively for those joining us on the night. Raffle tickets won’t be available beforehand, and the winner will be drawn at the event.

Another little reason to gather your girlfriends and join us for a very special evening celebrating rural women in the South Burnett.

Wednesday 14 October. Don’t miss it. by @_thefirebreak

I’m definitely not saying we should...

...but there’s a cabin two and a half hours from Brisbane, with a hot tub and basically zero phone signal...

Cabin trip??
