I’m rejecting AI so badly that I want to slow the process of creating images even further.

After this shoot with @dan.life.mod I did a workshop with @a.darkroom in Marrickville and (re)learned how to develop my own black and white film by hand, make contact sheets and then selects to print.

The whole process was so rewarding and took me right back to my high school lunch breaks developing photos of and with my best mates under the red light. More to come..

Studio and Street. A couple of prints made a while ago floating around the studio and finally scanned in of photographer Matteo Dal Vera. Without the notes from the print session or years printed on the photo which I composed for in the left image but it didn't land (guessing taken a year later to to the other) I would have had to find the negatives first narrowed down to the past roughly 4 years. Filed by year in a binder however I'm feeling pretty lazy today, but hopefully if I were to look the system would work. Been a while since I misplaced a negative I'm sure there's plenty of them. Thankfully often find them when looking for another one years down the track. Left image is of one person that does it better looking organised filing his own negatives/contact prints which I think is different system to mine and perhaps by project/place. Photo of him on the right in from one of my first portraits of him, I took two frames of him further up Cleveland St. from memory (would have to check the negative sheet to be sure though) knowing they were going to be dark I took advantage of the convenient store lighting and got another frame. Thrilling stuff! do you have a system? 🗄 by @a.darkroom

Focus shift. Print of two enlarged frames side by side of Edward and Nina @chinaheights Going off list for own exhibition printing today as procrastination kicked in. Printed using 6x9 glass carrier. Keen to dig through old negatives to find more sequences/paired images. by @a.darkroom

Today is the last day to see 'Bel Paese' publication + prints in exhibition by @chesternewling hosted at @charlton.studio 20 William St, Paddington. Curated by @jarryd.lynagh. Images from the publication and in exhibition made in @colourdarkroom and @a.darkroom by @a.darkroom

Test print from today using the Beseler track 35mm film carrier that adds some data if the numbers line up with the centre of the image, can also cover it up with easel blades. The carrier's track makes it easier to load than the full frame carrier and makes it bit quicker if you want to print multiple frames on the same strip of 6. No black border though.
