Since we're from so many different countries here: Where and how are you celebrating Christmas, if you're celebrating at all? Generally, in Germany we celebrate on the 24th, not the 25th like many other countries. This year, my entire family came to visit me in Egypt and although there's no real Christmas feeling under palm trees and sunny skies, it's the most peaceful Christmas for our family since I can remember. No stress, no fighting. Everyone is just grateful for the amazing hospitality, people and nature here in Egypt. Not being locked down in gray Europe but instead sharing lots of laughs and hugs with people - people not from our "household", but strangers. Strangers who aren't afraid of human connection and touch. I didn't think I'd ever be grateful hearing loud Bedouin weddings in my neighborhood or kids playing and screaming. Now it almost makes me cry, I'm so happy hearing people being together and living life like it should be. I hope you're hugging all your loved ones extra tight this year even when the world makes it seem like that's a crime. Would love to hear about your plans! Lots of love and hugs and kisses from Egypt. NO COUNTRY OWNS YOU. You're a free human being and you don't owe anything to a place that doesn't serve you. You don't have an obligation to a country just because you were born there. It was pure chance that you grew up where you did. But now you're a grown up. And you have the right and the ability to choose to go where you are treated best - if that's not the case in your home country. No matter the reason, it's your personal choice. No explanations and justifications needed. Some of you with weaker passports will say that this is only possible if we were lucky enough to grow up in Europe or America. And while I completely agree that it's easier for us, it's far from impossible for you. If you've always wanted to move to Europe but can't get a Schengen visa, then think of workarounds. Alternatives. Take Montenegro for example: One of the most beautiful countries in Europe. And ANYONE, NO MATTER THE NATIONALITY, gets permanent residency (and later citizenship!) if they start a company there. You don't even have to actually do any business with that company, it's just pro forma and not very expensive. This residency allows for visa-free travel to the Schengen area as well, plus Montenegro is expected to become a member of the EU in 2025. Head over to my blog to find out how it works. 🎉HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE SISTER @journeyofjudith (who is actually taller than me🙈) It's crazy to think that I've known her for every single day of her life. Thank you for being there for me during all my crazy times and for some of the most amazing trips. Whether it's dancing on the beach in the Dominican Republic, shopping in Amsterdam or networking in Vienna at the "Staatenlos" event this year (where we took that photo). I'm so proud of you for all the hard work you're putting in, creating a better you and better life for yourself. You're a little warrior. And when shit hits the fan - that's when you start to really shine and show your strength. Can't wait to see where life takes us next ✈️ I love you, little sis. by @a.little.nomad

I've kinda disappeared for a year 😱Time to reintroduce myself?! I'm Christina, a 30-year old digital nomad originally from Germany. Ever since I graduated from university, I've been traveling solo: counting 61 countries now. My base is in a tiny desert town on the Red Sea in Egypt called Dahab. And I'm building a new base in Montenegro, where this photo was taken. Not only am I a travel blogger and writer, I also consult German-speaking entrepreneurs & freelancers on how to legally live tax-free just like I do - by incorporating their companies abroad. @grenzenlosefreiheit1 Additionally, I run a comparison site on international health insurances for expats and digital nomads which uncovers all the tricks and hidden costs of insurers. I want to inspire and help other location-independent entrepreneurs set up their dream life without high taxes and bureaucracy. Legally. Stress-free. Safe. Now it's your turn: Who are you? What are you doing? Let me hear from you! 📸Skadar Lake, Montenegro . . . 💡 For stunning travel destinations and tips about expat & digital nomad life with a focus on Europe & Egypt, head over to my blog www.alittlenomad.com. 💡 Bist du Digitaler Nomade aus 🇩🇪🇦🇹🇨🇭? Did you know there is a flat tax of only 9% in Montenegro? Did you know that you can get (permanent) residency & even citizenship by starting a company? And that the costs for accountants etc. to run it are super low? Montenegro is one of the most interesting countries for foreigners looking to relocate to Europe as well as digital nomads looking to establish a base in a convenient location and timezone. This stunning country offers a very cheap and low-tax way of living. Side note: Montenegro is expected to become a member of the European Union in 2025. That may be one of the easiest and cheapest ways for people with weak passports to get a EU-passport (even now you already get visa-free access to 120+ countries). On the other side, it can have negative consequences for those of us with strong passports only looking to have a low-tax home base and be free of overly bureaucratic EU-regulations. It all depends on what your motivation and goal is. I spent almost 2 months in Montenegro this summer in order to do the research and find a reliable local partner to set this up with me. And now we can set it up for YOU, too.
