💫 reimagining of what could be by @a_isfor_a
look 4: in the woods somewhere featuring the mixed machine knitted and hand knitted dress, dyed jersey knit one sleeved tank, and another textural fabric harness, this look represents the culmination of my creative process and how both nature and human connections have shaped who i am. the color palette, with its mix of warmer browns and darker greens, is reflective of the juxtaposition of humans and nature, coming together to create something unexpectedly beautiful. by @a_isfor_a
look 3: petrichor featuring the color-blocked tank top with textural details and plaid fabric yarn, brushed yarn and fabric yarn belts, and flared pleated pants, this look represents the softer side of nature and human connection. the color palette, with its cooler tones, is reflective of the woods i grew up in and the nature i find myself drawn to. petrichor represents the growth that happens within nature, as well as my personal growth as a designer. by @a_isfor_a
look 2: wild child featuring a patchwork sweater with an asymmetric front made of a plaid fabric yarn, a green gauze fabric yarn, and a combination of yarns from my maternal grandmother, this look is reflective of my roots in knitwear and influence it has had on my design journey. this look also features a plaid fabric yarn belt, and hand dyed leg warmers, which are testaments to the math behind my collection. the twill skirt is a repeat print i designed digitally. wild child represents how fashion doesn’t need to be conventional and anything is possible if you put your mind to it. by @a_isfor_a
look 1: sunlight featuring the color-block double knit dress, brushed red harness, and multicolored frayed fabric knit harness, this look represents both the industrial inspiration behind my collection and nature through the juxtaposition of flowy and structural silhouettes. the color palette, with its warm tones, is reminiscent of the brick work of the factories my great grandfather worked in, as well as the work my grandfather did as a mason. sunlight is an ode to family history, as well as a reminder that our roots shape a brighter future. by @a_isfor_a
Introducing Senior Designer: Alex Murray🧶 Alex’s collection “Roots to Veins”, takes inspiration from human creation and nature. To achieve a bulky knit in her looks, she has been knitting with fabrics. Alex utilizes a fabric yarn across all of the pieces in her collection that she inherited from her grandmother. She hopes her pieces will reach people who believe that fashion doesn’t always need to be conventional. Edited by: @natalieursich Filmed by: @t9rie Directed by: @curtis.r0d by @a_isfor_a
