There’s a certain freedom in knowing yourself, being at peace with your choices and allowing others to have their own opinions.

Less explaining. More living. More peace. 🤍

Dear Auntie,

I wish we could speak the same language.
Every time you see me, you come forward with that familiar smile. Whether you’re sitting in your home, working in your garden or enjoying your lunch, you somehow find a moment to greet me.
Sometimes I feel you have so much to say, but the words don’t quite reach me. So we communicate through smiles, gestures and little moments.
Today, when I returned, you were having your lunch. And once again, you welcomed me and invited me to join you.
I don’t know if you realise how lovely these little encounters are for me.
When I asked to photograph you, you became a little shy and covered your smile. And that was exactly the moment I wanted to remember.
Perhaps we don’t always need words to make a connection. Sometimes, all it takes is recognising someone, greeting them and making them feel welcome.
I may not understand every word you say, Auntie, but I hope you know that I appreciate every little hello.
Until our next hello. ❤️

People I Meet, Moments I Keep. 😍

(The lady in the picture lives here in Bali. She’s the mother of our landlord @atexsmang , and although we don’t share a spoken language, we’ve somehow developed our own little way of saying hello.

Today, I wanted to capture that warmth.🤗

Perhaps understanding one another doesn’t always begin with words. Sometimes, it begins with noticing someone, acknowledging them and making space for a little connection.
A little kindness. A little understanding. A connection beyond words. ❤️
This is one of the people whose presence is making my time in Bali special.

Dear Instagram,

You were never meant to be the home I live in—just a window I look through occasionally.

Over the last 34 days, a quiet shift happened. I stopped letting a 6-inch screen dictate the pace of my nervous system, my focus, and my presence with the people right in front of me.

Here is what happens when you move from default scrolling to 10% intentional sharing and 90% real-world living:

🌿 Your mind settles. The constant urge to document evaporates, leaving space for pure experience.

🌿 Time expands. Days feel longer, richer, and unhurried when you aren’t constantly checking notifications.

🌿 Connection deepens. You stop viewing life as potential content and start receiving it as an experience.

Starting tomorrow, I’m opening up a 57-day window—one short, daily reflection on what changes when you reclaim your attention and live intentionally unscripted.

Day 35 begins in the morning.

Day 27/90 🌙

My night thoughts used to never stop. The same loop, every night before sleep, one thought pulling the next.

27 days ago I started living 90% in real life and 10% online, only on purpose. No endless scrolling. Just one window, and then I close it.

Here’s what I’ve noticed, and this is only my experience:
My sleep got better. The overthinking got quieter. Nothing magical happened. My mind just got more room.

I’m not going to pretend it’s been perfect. Some days I slipped, and the last few were hard. But on most days, I kept the window, and my mind felt different.

I think we feed our minds noise all day without noticing, and then wonder why it’s loud at night.

If you want to try it, start small. For 3 days, only be online on purpose. Open the app with a reason, then close it. Notice what changes.

Next 60 days, I’m adding more structure to the real-life part. I’ll share it as I go. Follow along if you’d like to see how it goes. 🤍

Let’s stop confusing endurance with peace. ⚡️

For years, we’ve been handed heavy inheritances—unspoken expectations, emotional suppression, and rigid scripts wrapped up in the name of “tradition.” We are told, “This is just how our culture is. This is how our family has always done it.”

And for a long time, we keep quiet. We carry it. We perform it.
But standing in your truth requires a different kind of courage. I hold deep respect for where I come from, but I respect my soul’s peace far too much to keep repeating cycles that were built on survival, control, or silence.

Breaking generational scripts isn’t a betrayal of your roots. It is the raw, bold refusal to pass down wounds to the next chapter.

You can honor the past without becoming a prisoner to it. You can love your people and still say, This stops with me.
The truth bomb society doesn’t want to swallow? Peace isn’t found in obedience to outdated rules—it’s found in the radical bravery of unlearning out loud.

What is the one societal script you are officially done carrying? 👇🏽 by @aaliya_masoodi_

Slowing down the pace changes how you experience an entire week.

Rewinding through the last seven days, starting today with my daughter’s birthday celebrations, to watching the first seasonal rains in the garden, reflecting on Dr. Jane Goodall’s final words, getting creative in the kitchen, and landing back in Bali after a week of travel.

When you stop rushing through life, you realize how much beauty lives in the simple, unscripted moments. 🌿✨

What was one small moment that brought you peace or joy this past week? Tell me in the comments 👇

Day 24/90 🌙

24 days ago I started an experiment: 90 days of 90% real life and 10% intentional online time. Here’s what those 24 days actually looked like, in three phases.

Phase 1: Open. Post. Close.
The intention was fresh and I had so much energy. I’d open Instagram only to post my stories and reel, then close it. It worked.

Phase 2: “Just 5 minutes.”
I started scrolling first. A few minutes, then I’d remember I only had an hour, shut the app, and come back later to post.

Phase 3: One last time.
The last 4 days. I began deleting the app at night so I wouldn’t scroll in the morning. But before deleting it, I’d open it one last time, and I couldn’t stop.

The last 4 days were my hardest, and I’m not hiding them. That’s what an experiment is. I’m rewiring my brain every day. It’s tough, and I’m ready.

Day 27: what I’m trying next. Follow along if you want to see how it goes. 🤍

Somewhere along the way, you rediscover the little things that make you happy. For me, earrings have always been one of them. ❤️

And now, every time I find a pair I love, I want to wear them, admire them, take pictures of them… basically make them my entire personality. 😂

Maybe that’s the beauty of rediscovering yourself — falling in love with little things all over again and allowing yourself to enjoy them, unapologetically. ✨

There’s a strange kind of comfort in being busy.

For years, my calendar, my work with FamilyBond, and the constant hum of being an educator and advisor gave me a clear answer to who I was. If anyone asked, I had a ready-made script.

When you step away from that momentum, the silence feels huge at first.

You look in the mirror without the titles, the schedules, or the expectation to have all the answers, and you realize you haven’t checked in with yourself in a very long time.

What surprised me most about going unscripted wasn’t the extra time—it was the lightness. I started noticing a side of myself I’d tucked away while being “the responsible adult”: someone who loves spontaneous laughter, creative messes, and simply existing without trying to turn every moment into a lesson or a milestone.

It turns out, stepping back from performing isn’t losing ground. It’s just making room for the rest of who you are to finally catch up. 🌿

Have you ever had to step away from a role or a title to figure out who you were underneath it? I’d love to hear your thoughts below.

Day 19/90

Scrolling was never a need. It was a choice.

For years I told myself I needed it. To relax. To stay updated. To fill the quiet. Every time I picked up my phone, it felt automatic, like something I had to do.

Nineteen days without it showed me the truth. Nothing broke. Nothing fell apart. The urge came, and it passed. I didn’t need it. I was choosing it, again and again, without even noticing.

That’s the hardest part to admit, and the most freeing. If it was a choice, then it’s never had power over me. It only had the power I gave it.

How many hours did we give away, thinking we had no option?

What will you choose today? 👇

When we decided to leave our comfortable routine, choosing where to land wasn’t about finding a vacation spot ,it was about choosing an environment that supports our family’s health, growth, and inner peace. 🌿✨

For the same cost of living in a Flat system in Qatar . Bali allows us to wake up surrounded by nature, fresh air, and an open layout that helps us decelerate. But receiving all this beauty comes with a responsibility: we didn’t just come to take from this island; we came to respect its culture, support local businesses, and actively give back to the community that welcomes us.

From nature becoming a living classroom for our children to connecting with a global homeschool community of likeminded families, this move is teaching us that true quality of life comes from alignment, simplicity, and staying present
.

Comfort said “stay.” Curiosity said “trust me.” 😉☕

I’m still listening to curiosity.
