This is a portrait of my Nani as a Kashmiri bride. If you look through old family albums in Kashmir, so many of our grandmothers look just like this. It was simple, familiar, and there was an ease to it that never really aged. Today, planning a bridal wardrobe has become exhausting. Between chasing trends and trying to hold onto heritage and heirlooms, brides end up overwhelmed rather than excited. I’m starting Bridal Archivist so you don’t have to do it alone. Something very close to my heart is in the making. Coming soon. by @aayatmashood

“The dusk here does not arrive on the shoulders of golden sunsets any more, but on the heels of long, encroaching shadows of untraceable trees in the distance, gloomy parallel patterns that cascade over the undulating landscape of unevenly dispersed corpses and other things.” - @mirzahwaheed by @aayatmashood
