bits & pieces ๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿ’โœจ๐ŸŒ… by @abby.robinson.11
eleven years ago today i was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. my life changed in every way that day. through all the tears, trials, and hard days that diabetes has brought me and i am above all grateful and know that through it all God has a plan. while there are many โ€œbadโ€ things that come with diabetes like high blood sugars, low blood sugars, constant site changes, and always watching my blood sugar. there are also many reasons that i am thankful for this disease, it has given me the opportunity to meet so many amazing people and give back to my community. diabetes has also given me the chance to spread awareness and provide help and support to newer diabetes. another reason that i am grateful for diabetes is it has given me the chance to attend @camp_aldersgate as both a camper and a cit. without camp aldersgate i would not be where i am today. it gave me the opportunity to learn more about diabetes and how to take care of it while also allowing me to spend a week getting to know other diabetics that have gone through and continue to go thought the same struggles that i face daily. getting to go back to camp aldersgate and be a cit was one of the most special experiences of my life and i am so thankful that i was given that opportunity. i am so thankful for everyone in my life who has supported me through both the good and the bad times. to every family member, friend, nurse, doctor, and teacher that has been there for me i couldnโ€™t begin to thank you enough for the impact that you have had on my life. i also want to say a special thank you to my parents. everything you have done for me the last eleven years has not gone unnoticed and i am so thankful for absolutely everything. thank you for always fighting for me and being there for everything that i needed. ๐Ÿ’™ by @abby.robinson.11
