MMA team went 5-1 Saturday night at @aberdeencombatshow 👊

Having six lads fighting was challenging enough, never mind promoting and managing the show alongside dealing with pullouts and venue changes.

Myself and @islamamish worked hard with the lads over the last 8 weeks. Plenty of positives and negatives to take away, but it’s all a learning experience as we try to become better coaches. The teamwork is really starting to show, with our MMA team now 12-3 against high-level opponents since the start of the year.

@davidmihalciuc_7 won via SD (should’ve been UD) in his first adult MMA fight. Against a good wrestler, David used his jab, footwork and right hand well, while mixing in his own takedowns. Strong first two rounds before slowing slightly in the third.

@reece.grimmer unfortunately lost via decision. A tough fight, but Reece showed massive heart. He took some huge shots, kept firing back and continued pushing forward. Credit to Emmanuel on a good performance.

@erfanmoradilakeh won via R2 TKO. The plan was simple — takedowns and aggressive GNP. Erfan was relentless with his mat returns before getting the finish. Much better composure, some nasty calf kicks and probably the slam of the night 🤼

@jackgoudie won via UD in his second MMA fight. A much more patient performance than his debut. His improvements in grappling showed as he controlled the first two rounds. Slowed down in the third, but got the job done with plenty still to improve on.

@_Owen.u7 won via SD against the talented Josh Russell. After an injury forced Owen to change his style, it was great seeing him put his striking and wrestling together again. He secured the first two rounds and showed maturity finishing the fight on top with GNP.

Last up, @mar.cuswebster won against Abbid Khan in a high-level amateur fight. After a fast opening, Marcus took over, walking him down behind his jab and combinations, landing knees and takedowns against the cage and controlling well on top.

Marcus is now 6-0, including 4-0 this year, since joining @aberdeencombatcentre.

Proud of the whole team. Lots to work on, lots to build on.

That’s over. What’s next… 👀 by @aberdeencombatshow

special thank you and apology to conran wilson

this lad has went out his way to help with the behind the scenes stuff with @stephen_films_ with filming his video at the torry battery in the early hours

What i wanted to achieve was bring something special to the his home “Torry” stonehaven has the beer festival Turriff has the Turriff Show Edinburgh has the Fringe festival, why can’t Torry have the Combat Show ? it wasn’t to be in the end and i genuinely felt gutted for him.

his original opponent pulled out we managed to get a new much harder opponent in @lucas.campbell5 who gave him an absolutely cracking fight. i know lucas well he made me feel very welcome at my first griphouse interclub topper of a bloke too.

Conran pulled off the performance of the night and his crowd were honestly unreal.
