BUSINESS ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

We have been planning fabulous celebrations for almost six years now, welcoming clients from all over the world. We’ve planned events in 12 different countries (some multiple times!).

We’ve been nominated for awards, presented with prestigious titles, and featured in some of the world’s biggest wedding publications.

This business has been my baby, and I am so proud of all I’ve achieved and squeezed into the last five to six years.

What I am about to announce is not a decision that has been made lightly.

The dream clients I’ve been so fortunate to have over the years have pulled me through some of the hardest periods of my life. Having others depend on you, trust in you, and invest in you is such a privilege - one that I have never taken for granted.

I have poured everything I could into this business. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has been worth it. It has allowed me to travel to bucket list places, making connections and lifelong friends along the way.

But more importantly, it has fulfilled the value that I prioritize above all else in life: freedom. This business has given me financial freedom, creative freedom, but above all else, the freedom of time to live and do life wherever, whenever, and I feel immeasurably grateful for this.

I never had a set career dream. All I knew for certain was that I wanted to do a job that had a positive impact, that made people happy, that made people smile and brought joy. Being a wedding planner allowed me to do just that (and so much more!).

I got to bring love stories to life, create once-in-a-lifetime memories for others, and if you ask me, that’s a pretty special job! 🥹🫶🏼

And so, with a happy, very fulfilled heart, I am writing to announce that from 1st May 2024, we’ll be closing our doors…

Last year we were commissioned to plan + design a luxury children’s party @thedorchester.

As an imagineer, it is important to me that I work with clients who allow myself and my team the creative freedom to dream big and think outside the box - this is how we produce our best work.

Our inspiration for this event came from the 1993 film ‘The Secret garden’. The original 1959 sleeping beauty movie by Walt Disney is actually quite dark and since this was a birthday party for a 6 year old, we wanted it to be vibrant, bright + fun! After a week of brainstorming + researching, we came up with the idea of merging the key scenes from both films to create our own little fairytale narrative.

The story we told through our design: ‘Princess Aurora or sleeping beauty as you may know her was wandering through an enchanting forest. The forest was full of light, wild flowers and wildlife. Eventually sleeping beauty stumbles upon an overgrown arched entrance with a winding cobbled path and in the distance through this beautiful wild garden she spots the most magnificent castle with turquoise-tiled towers, golden turrets, and a working drawbridge. She is curious, she wants to explore. It feels magical and enticing. When sleeping beauty enters the castle to her amazement it was awaiting her arrival. She opens the doors only to find a perfectly set banqueting hall, a long table filled with flowers, delicious foods, a throne for her to perch and a place for all of her princess friends.’

I cannot tell you how much fun we had planning, designing and dreaming up this event. It was every little girls dream (mine included!). I’m super proud of this event, we pulled out all the stops bringing it to life in just a matter of weeks! But it wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing team of creatives we had working alongside us. It really does take a village! 💕

BUSINESS / LIFE update.

Hello all, as promised in my last post, I have some special news to share… 🥹

In 2024, I pressed pause on Abigail Lucy Design to focus on what truly matters most.

I’m so excited to share that my husband and I are expecting a baby - trusting that life’s timing really is everything. We couldn’t be more grateful for this blessing.

With this little love on the way, I’ve decided to extend this season of slowing down, which means I won’t be reopening the doors of Abigail Lucy Design this year. (Sorry to my fellow event profs who reached out after my last post all excited! 🤣)

This chapter of my life is all about family, presence, and exploring new business moves that set my soul on fire again - but most importantly, ones that support this season of motherhood without compromising my freedom.

We’ll continue to honour commitments with our regular HNW clients, but for the foreseeable future, our diary will remain closed for new bookings.

I’m not yet sure what the future of AL will look like, but I promise to keep you all in the loop.

If you’d like to stay updated on diary openings and new launches, you can subscribe to our mailing list via the link in bio.

Thank you for every bit of love and support - it truly means the world.

With love,
Abigail Lucy 🤍✨ by @abigaillucydesign

Hi IG family,

It’s been a while - 12 months, to be exact. Time has truly flown! Last year, I made the bold decision to take a year-long sabbatical from my business after a difficult healing journey in my personal life. As I began to feel like myself again, I realized just how precious life is, and I wanted to embrace the slow lane - soaking up quality time with my family and making priceless memories.

Over the past year, I’ve focused on upgrading my home and lifestyle, creating freedom-based systems that will allow me to step back into the business world without compromising my mental health, well-being, or time with my family.

These 12 months have also given me space to explore passions outside of events, which has been incredibly refreshing. It has taught me more than I ever could have imagined about myself. Who knew that slowing down could be so transformative?

Truthfully, making the decision to step away from my business was terrifying - almost like a grieving process. I think only other business owners will truly understand that. I worried I’d lose my drive, that I’d deeply miss the fast-paced world of events… but instead, I found exactly what I needed. And now, if (or when) I do return fully, I know my approach to business will be forever changed.

An exciting business/life update is coming soon - stay tuned! ✨

Sadly, we can’t share the photographs from this recent luxury children’s birthday party we planned, designed + managed. But can share the cake. . .

Another masterpiece from @tattooedbakers - I have no words! 🥹😍

This little girls birthday party theme was butterflies & unicorns with all the pretty pastel colours of the rainbow. It was a spa & slumber party, jam packed with fun activities, personalized gifts + magic moments!

We had beauty treatments, a full spa set up, bespoke satin robes and matching PJS, fluffy matching headbands, matching slippers, arts & crafts, pizza making and a teepee sleepover with home cinema screening!

All the girls got extra large goodie bags filled up with luxurious keepsake gifts. . . It was such a fun party to plan and gorgeous day to be apart of. 💖

An Italian love story. . .

Sofreh Aghd details, a subtle and modernized take on a tradition which has been celebrated for thousands of years 🤍

This multi-cultural Persian + English wedding took place in beautiful historic home in the heart of the Cilento National Park, in Santa Maria di Castellabate.

Historically, Britain + Persia both hold a diverse and rich history much like the couples chosen venue of choice ‘The Palazzo Belmonte’. The Palazzo has been a family home for several generations dating back as early as the eighteenth century.

The Palazzo Belmonte is a unique + charming residency set on the seafront tucked away amongst 5 acres of private gorgeous garden land - providing both exclusivity + luxury.

We hired the villa on an exclusive basis so the entire wedding party could enjoy 4 full days of luxury, relaxation and recuperation together in peace + privacy! It was a truly magical place, one which will be regularly revisiting! 🇮🇹✨
