How can we raise children who feel connected, capable and confident in caring for themselves, their community and the planet? Permaculture offers more than ways to grow food. Its ethics and principles can help us slow down, simplify family life and create environments where children can develop resilience, connection and a sense of belonging. Join @sarahfromthecosmos and I at @purplepearfarm this Sunday for a practical and thoughtful session exploring how permaculture can support families and communities to live more simply and sustainably. While your children enjoy exploring in the Acacia Play space, adults are invited to join an open and welcoming conversation about applying permaculture principles to everyday family life. Together, we’ll explore ideas around slowing down, observing and responding with care, building connection with nature, nurturing resilience and creating simple rhythms that work for families in a busy world. Come along, slow down and discover some simple ways permaculture can help us build more resilient families and communities. Pop a 🌼 below and I will send you the link! by @acacia.play

🌸 Spring is here! and so is Term Four + our Spring Holidays. Always our favorite time of year at Acacia Play as the earth slowly wakes from its winter slumber, seeds are sown, flowers bloom, bees hum, and the days are warm and stretch longer with light.   It’s within this season of abundance that we begin our final term of the year, gathering to connect, play + grow, and we would love for you to join us too!  Our Spring Holidays begin this Monday at The Paddock and we would love to see you there 🌸 by @acacia.play
Grateful to all who joined us at @ourlakemac Living Smart Festival with your creativity, curiosity and heart this year, it is all ways such a fabulous much loved day 🤎🌏 Together we created nature crowns to adorn heads and homes, each flower grown from my verge garden at home over many, many months 🌸. Being mindful of where things come from, how they are grown and the impact of our choices is all part of living a little more lightly. By sharing these moments with our children and their families, we are planting the seeds for future generations to grow in care, respect, and love for the planet. When we weren’t creating with you all we loved exploring @permaculture.hunter with @purplepearfarm, sodas made from scraps with @wholefoodfamily and matcha from our friends at @raravanbar. Panel discussions with @renewyliving and so many, the joy @upcyclenewcastle always brings to their creative ways to use waste and hearing all about pest ecosystems with @tree_frog_permaculture + so much more! by @acacia.play

What if the future we’re looking for is something we can begin building right here, together? Join @permaculture.hunter at @purplepearfarm for a special morning with farmer, storyteller and author Jade Miles @black_barn_farm, exploring how we can create more connected, resilient and regenerative communities by looking closer to home. Jade is the founder and host of Futuresteading and the author of Huddle: Creating a Tomorrow of Togetherness. Through stories from her travels, farming life and work in local food systems, she invites us to rethink how we live, work, grow and gather. Together, we’ll explore localisation and the power of community, drawing on the people, skills, stories, food and resources already around us to create places that are more connected, sustainable and alive. At her regenerative @black_barn_farm, Jade has seen firsthand how growing food can also grow relationships, knowledge and belonging. This morning is an opportunity to hear her stories, share ideas and consider what we can create when we work together. Come along to pause, connect and get curious about what a more regenerative future could look like, starting right here in our own communities. Sunday 13 September 2026

Creating and connecting this morning at The Farm as we created beautiful wattle flower crowns to adorn heads and spaces from woven willow branches. Did you know that wattles are also known as Acacias, pioneer plants that are planted along side smaller trees that grow quicker than the others in order to provide support and strength to smaller trees. As the faster growing pioneer plant grows and then dies back it allows for the smaller trees to out grow them once they have been nurtured enough to develop strong roots and good foundations.

At Acacia Play we view us adults as the pioneer trees, nurturing our little ones, supporting them to grow and develop with strong foundations and a connection to the earth. Once they are big enough we can step back and move further away to let them grow even further into themselves 🤎 Next week our Spring Holidays + Term Four will be available - sign up to our emails via the website to be the first to know when they are released. by @acacia.play
