What IS a Chamber of Commerce? #ChambersChangeThings #SupportYourLocalChamber by @accehq

Your chamber's best work is hiding in plain sight.

The storefront that stayed open. The apprenticeship that kept a graduate in town. Most people walk past chamber work every day without knowing it.

A 2024 Harris Poll commissioned by ACCE found that 44% of Americans say they are familiar with their local chamber. Seventy percent wish they knew more. And 86% of adults familiar with their local chamber are satisfied with it.

That's not a relevance problem. It's a narrative problem, and your stories are the fix.
Chambers Change Things gives you the research, messaging, creative and templates to tell them. Find the toolkit at the link in bio.

Thank you to the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives for hosting NGA CEO Dr. Brandon Tatum yesterday.

Chambers are important partners in doing the work that builds thriving communities.

With 39 gubernatorial elections days away, leaders will need to disagree without deadlock to deliver results for the people they serve.

Fresh ideas are already taking shape after ACCE's 2026 Events & Communications Conference in Milwaukee.
More than 100 chamber professionals from over 30 states exchanged strategies for strengthening events, communications and member engagement.

Attendees returned home with ideas for:
– Rethinking sponsorships and signature events
– Creating experiences that build belonging
– Engaging and retaining young professionals
– Improving online visibility as AI reshapes search
– Learning from peers facing similar challenges

Some even started putting those ideas to work before leaving Milwaukee!

Read how attendees are turning conference takeaways into action in our latest blog, "Chamber Professionals Bring Fresh Ideas Home From Milwaukee," at acce.org.

81% recognize Chambers as trusted resources and partners.

At the McKinney Chamber, that means advocating for local businesses, connecting community leaders and working on issues that shape McKinney’s future, from education and workforce development to housing affordability and infrastructure.

We’re more than a business network. We’re a voice for business and a partner in our community’s progress.
