Alkaen: 1994

Millaista: EBM:ää. Siis kunnon Saksajunttaa paikallisin synthpop-maustein.

Miksi: Accessory on saksalaisen EBM tunnetuimpia vakionimiä, jolla on pitkä historia vailla Suomen-vierailua.

————

After a rather agonizing deliberation, Das Ich’s replacement for HIF 26 has now been chosen: Accessory.

From: Chemnitz, East Germany (formerly Karl-Marx-Stadt), is known for its industrial history and strong alternative culture scene. The city also hosts Dark Storm Festival, which belongs to the mid-sized elite of the European scene. Chemnitz was named European Capital of Culture in 2025.

Since: 1994

What: EBM. Proper German stuff, with a local synthpop twist.

Why: Accessory is one of the best-known names in German EBM, with a long history but no previous visit to Finland. A few more familiar options were considered at the EP office, but in the end the thinking was that Das Ich’s replacement should specifically be a long-standing act representing proper German EBM.
We hope you won’t be disappointed. by @accessory_music
