๐ŸŽƒ It's that time of the year! The Halloween Costume Contest is here! ๐Ÿ‘ป Group 6: Proactive Referral & Engagement (PRE) Program, Featuring Shane Hockin as March Rabbit "Grumpy" Tea Party Host, Selena Ortiz as Empress Queen of Hearts, JJ Jerez as the youthful White Rabbit, Delaney Burrell as the 21st Century, Pre-med Alice, Gwyneth Clark as the effervescent living flower, Cacheline Prevalous as the Coolest Mad Hatter, and Samantha Tackett as the Cheshire Vibe Cat! ๐Ÿ‡ Costume Theme: Alice in Wonderland Tea Party! The Story Behind Their Costumes: The PRE Programโ€™s study party was complete chaos: Shane Hockin grumpily poured tea, Selena Ortiz ruled the party with heart-stopping authority, JJ Jerez sprinted around to help, and Delaney Burrell diagnosed everyoneโ€™s study fatigue. Thankfully, Gwyneth Clark radiated bright flower energy, Cacheline Prevalous kept it cool as Mad Hatter, and Samantha Tackett matched their vibe as the cool cat she is. This party proved that while navigating college feels like falling down a wacky rabbit hole, our team is always right here to guide, support, and help students find their way! ๐Ÿ“š Department Mission: The FSU Proactive Referral and Engagement (PRE) program supports students experiencing academic and personal challenges. We seek to help students throughout each semester to improve their learning, recover from poor test scores, and make informed decisions based on early performance. We encourage students to schedule a session with a course-based tutor, study skills tutor, Academic Success Mentor, or an ACE Faculty/Staff member to identify and address learning barriers! ๐Ÿ† Which category should this group win? ๐ŸŽƒ It's that time of the year! The Halloween Costume Contest is here! ๐Ÿ‘ปGroup 5: Office of Retention, Featuring Danielle Porter, Allison Peters, Emma Boyle, Jonnel Randolph, and Kylie Lawrence! ๐Ÿฑ Costume Theme: Campus Cats The Story Behind Their Costumes: We can be found all over campus, love interacting with students and enjoy a treat every once in a while. ๐Ÿ“š Department Mission: The Office of Retention supports undergraduate students at Florida State University to ensure that they have ample opportunity to complete a degree. Departmental staff supports students through programming designed to engage undergraduate students during their first year and assist students in navigating barriers during the course registration process. The Office of Retention Identifies and tracks specific students who may benefit from outreach and coordinates university resources to assist them. Assists students in accessing campus resources to support their academic and personal success as they progress toward completion of a degree. Tracks undergraduate course enrollment closely and promotes the universityโ€™s โ€œTake 15โ€ campaign, encouraging students to take at least 15 credit hours in fall and spring semesters for a timely graduation. Coordinates course registration outreach campaigns, offers support services for students who โ€œstop outโ€ during their freshman and sophomore years, and executes course registration help sessions. Manages first-year student engagement and success courses through Engage 100, a collaborative initiative to support studentsโ€™ transition to the university and to foster social connections. Executes events for students from beyond Florida or living off-campus through Noles Everywhere, the Off-Campus and Out-of-State Ambassadors program. ๐Ÿ† Which category should this group win? ๐ŸŽƒ It's that time of the year! The Halloween Costume Contest is here! ๐Ÿ‘ป Our 1st group is the Advising First โ€“ Center for Academic Guidance, Featuring Dana Auvil, Sarah Bacani, and LaToya Lee! ๐ŸŽ‰ Their Costume Theme is "Fiesta de Cumpleaรฑos!" Together, we crack open student success every single day, and make sure success spills out in the end! Department Mission: The Advising First Center for Academic Guidance provides an extra layer of support alongside college life coaches and advisors to help students build strong study habits and stay on track. Academic guides partner with undergraduates to offer personalized, one-on-one assistance tailored to their individual goals. Through this collaboration, guides help students identify academic barriers, create actionable plans to overcome them, and connect with essential FSU resources. Ultimately, this empowers students to develop vital skills, persist through their degree, and graduate with confidence. ๐Ÿ† Which category should this group win?
