POSTS STORIES REELS

From fragments of wood, a story takes shape. 🧡🖤
Layers, textures, colour and African silhouettes come together in this expressive mixed-media piece celebrating connection, culture and the beauty of creating with what we have.

Art is not always about what you start with, but what you dare to create from it.

"Some places exist only for those who still know how to look."

A quiet forest. Rolling hills. A river that never asks where it is going.

Landscapes have a language of their own. They ask nothing of us except that we slow down long enough to notice the light resting on the trees, the rhythm of the valleys, the silence between the mountains.

Perhaps that is why we paint them: not to recreate nature, but to preserve the feeling of standing before its quiet beauty.

Creation is the slow act of making the invisible impossible to ignore. by @activeleadersarts

Every sculpture begins with a conversation between the artist and the clay.

There are no shortcuts-just patience, observation, and hundreds of small decisions that slowly bring life to an idea.
This piece is still finding its voice, and every touch reveals a little more of the story.

$There is an incredible energy here, it almost feels like the surface itself is vibrating. It’s not just a painting of a street; it feels like the street is pushing outward into the room. What drew you to build this composition on such a heavily fractured, dimensional surface? Artist: The city isn’t flat, so why should the canvas be? Lagos and really any bustling Nigerian urban center doesn't exist in two dimensions. It is a place of overlapping realities, constant movement, and dense human experience. By building the canvas out of offset, multilayered wood blocks, I wanted the physical structure to mirror the compressed architecture and chaotic rhythm of the streets. As light moves across the room throughout the day, the shadows on those wooden edges shift. The piece never stays completely still.
