Sights and sounds on a trip out to visit another camp for the Internally displaced persons of Cambodia in Banteay Meanchey province - approximately 2hrs drive out from Battambang province where we were based.
.
This time we saw housing that was meant for retired military personnel converted to homes for those who fled the recent conflict, easing the needs of roughly 3,000 people.
.
There was distribution of medicine, essential food supplies and infant care toiletries. by @acts.singapore

We went to Oddar Meanchey Province to distribute supplies and donations to the internally displaced people of Cambodia - it brought out the humanitarian aspect of an @acts.singapore mission, providing relief and aid, while at the same time we hoped to have had brought some comfort.
.
While we can only worry about the rainy season bringing challenges ahead for them - we are back in the comfort of home in a few days but their reality continues indefinitely for now.
.
Sanitation & education are critical concerns at the moment and we are in true admiration at the local and religious communities working tirelessly to provide assistance whenever they can. by @acts.singapore

As the conflict along the Cambodia Thailand border continues, our sisters, together with local religious leaders, have stepped in to provide shelter, food rations, and daily essentials to families who have been displaced. They have also travelled to areas at risk to assess needs and deliver additional aid where possible.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected, and with those on the ground serving quietly and courageously. We pray for peace for both sides.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this relief effort. Your generosity is not abstract, it is food, shelter, and hope for those who need it most. by @acts.singapore

Psalm 112(113)

Práise, O sérvants of the Lórd, *
práise the náme of the Lórd!
May the náme of the Lórd be bléssed *
both nów and for évermóre!
From the rísing of the sún to its sétting *
práised be the náme of the Lórd!

Hígh above all nátions is the Lórd, *
abóve the héavens his glóry.
Whó is like the Lórd, our Gód, *
who has rísen on hígh to his thróne
yet stóops from the héights to look dówn, *
to look dówn upon héaven and éarth?

From the dúst he lífts up the lówly, *
from his mísery he ráises the póor
to sét him in the cómpany of prínces, *
yés, with the prínces of his péople.
To the chíldless wífe he gives a hóme *
and gláddens her héart with chíldren.

ACTS Battambang 2025 has come to an end and we give God thanks and praise.

There was laughter and tears, mixed with joy and sorrow, but each of us were given a heart of gratitude and generosity. From what the Lord has allowed us to give, to partake of, and to be given.

I pray that even as the sun rises and the sun sets, the Son of Man Jesus Christ ever has his eyes upon those who are suffering and perhaps even despairing at the situation presented to us. Yet the Lord of Hope is with us, and he loves each of us not in the plenty we can do, but in the lack that we depend on his grace alone. And Jesus will never fail us.

I thank the Lord for his faithfulness, and kyrie eleison on all of us, especially his unworthy servant.

This is a beautiful rendition of "The First Noel" by the aspirants, postulants novices and the formators of Mary, Help of Christians College.

Thank you for making a difference. 💙

Because of your generous contributions to the ACTS Humanitarian Fund, we’ve reached our fundraising goal!

Your support means we can continue to bring hope across Southeast Asia through projects in food, education, healthcare, and humanitarian aid.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us in our mission. Together, we are changing lives. 🙏✨ by @acts.singapore

A recap of the past week while on mission work to Phnom Penh and Battambang with @acts.singapore as well as other initiatives and networking for the Salesian sisters of Don Bosco.
.
Shoutout to @gingerbeanies for making the connection with Essilor-Luxxotica to provide eye screenings in Phnom Penh next month and hopefully in Battambang in December with my team.
.
Needless to say countless memories created every year and one video doesn’t do justice to the friendships and connections formed, deepened and rekindled.
.
Just very blessed to call these lovely folks my friends and family - both the Singaporeans and Cambodians who were absolutely delightful hosts.
.
PS: apologies can only tag 20 people 🤭 by @acts.singapore

Our Hearts Are with Myanmar

This is the chapel at the Don Bosco Centre in Mandalay—a place of refuge for street children and youth seeking a better future. When the 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck, four were injured within these walls.

The Salesian Sisters who have long served displaced communities, offering shelter and hope, have now become displaced themselves. Even in the face of danger, they stand guard over their damaged centre, bracing for aftershocks while protecting what little remains from looters.

ACTS has been privileged to serve the people of Myanmar through our missions, building relationships with those who now face this devastation. As they endure this crisis, we stand with them in prayer and solidarity.

Let us keep them, and all affected in Myanmar, in our prayers. May they find strength and safety in these uncertain times.
