When I left the military, I didn’t lose my fitness. I lost my mission.

For years, training had structure and purpose. Then it became just workouts. I was still strong, still disciplined, but without direction I felt untethered.

Everything shifted when Erin signed up for a triathlon.

Watching her train reminded me what commitment looks like. In 2023 at Cocoa Beach, she raced the triathlon and I ran the 5K. I barely trained. Three miles wrecked me. But in that discomfort, I found clarity.

One mile became two. Two became five. Road races brought back early mornings and structure. Then we went all in on triathlon. Long rides. Hard swims. Sprint races. An Olympic distance.

Discipline returned.

Moving to Utah pushed it further. Trail miles built patience and grit.

Then I found HYROX.

It felt like everything coming together. Engine from the road. Endurance from triathlon. Resilience from the trails. I raced my first Open in Vegas, then stepped into the Pro division. Now the goal is clear: qualify for the HYROX World Championships.

This journey isn’t about medals. It’s about direction. It’s about choosing growth over drifting.

Train. Fight. Run.

Relentless pursuit of better. by @adamlevey.tfr

WHO I AM.

Before anything else — I’m a husband.

Erin is the greatest blessing in my life.
She’s my foundation, my teammate, and the reason I continue to push to become better every day.

From there, everything expands.

I’m an endurance athlete — HYROX, triathlon, road racing, trail racing.
I train because discipline sharpens every area of my life.
Competition isn’t just about performance — it’s about preparation.

I’m a fighter.
Taekwondo at four years old.
Boxing and martial arts my entire life.
Boxed in college at the Naval Academy.
Taught boxing in the Marine Corps.
Now I teach kids and adults.

Fighting shaped me long before endurance did.
It taught me resilience, composure, and how to stand when things get hard.

I’m an entrepreneur.
I’ve built businesses.
I’ll build more.
My wife and I will build together.
It’s not easy — but growth rarely is.

I’m a Marine Corps veteran.
That foundation never leaves you.
Discipline. Accountability. Ownership.

And I’m a dog dad.
Axel, Rosie, Smoke, and Luna.
Our home in Sandy, Utah is loud, chaotic, and perfect.

This page isn’t just about fitness.
It’s about becoming harder to break.
Stronger in every arena.
More disciplined in how I live, lead, and love.

Train.
Fight.
Run.

10 Days Out - how I’m preparing for HYROX.

Sleep. It’s so important. Of course - we all know this. But I’ve seen what can happen come race day when you are in a sleep deficit. There is nothing that is more important for recovery and readiness.

Diet. Locked in - fully. Halloween was fun for sure. I had a little bit of candy and enjoyed myself. But it was more for the experience than anything else. My diet is fully where it needs to be. Meal prep as always. Overnight oats cannot be beaten!

Water. Only water and electrolytes. That’s it. I take my carb drinks before workouts - but I focus on hydration and as few ingredients in my system as possible. I love a good zero sugar energy drink from time to time - but only water now.

Planning/logistics/strategy. I’m really excited for this race. These last few days are critical. Getting everything ready to go! by @adamlevey.tfr

Incredible night. 10/10 people.

I found some funny Halloween games the night before the party and decided we should try them out… best decision ever. 🤣

I did not realize how competitive we would get over a brown paper bag & a couple of solo cups. I should have known our friends better than that. There were broken nails and some light first aid administered afterwards. 💀

Genuinely such a fun time with people who came ready to PLAY for the costume contest and themed dish contest.

One thing I know about a party, we love to give out trophies - because genuinely when was the last time any of us earned a trophy as adults 🤣 gives us something to live for.

Hope everyone had a spooky and fun night, until next year 🎃💀👻 by @adamlevey.tfr

My 5 biggest takeaways for late night miles.

Today was upside down for me. Normally I get my training in first thing in the morning. But today I had to switch it up. Even though it wasn’t the original plan, I made some specific intentional decisions throughout the day to ensure I could still execute this run which was 9.5 miles of tough intervals.

Hydrate all day. While this should be the case every day - if you are already drinking a good amount of water - add in an extra packet of electrolytes or two. Grab an extra bottle. It’ll pay off.

Whole Foods lunch: I always eat the same thing for lunch Mon-Fri. Why? Because it always works. About 275g of white rice, and 8 ounces of 93/7 lean ground beef. It never upsets my stomach. Carbs and lean protein. It just works.

Stretching. Some people believe in stretching. Some people don’t. I do. Why? Because I feel better. I always start with foam rolling. Atleast once a day and usually right before training. Then I do some static stretching. I think it helps. A lot.

Carbs. Fuel. One scoop of @bpnsupps G1M sport and G1M sport +. Normally I wouldn’t take the caffeine this late. But this was a big effort. So I said - why not. It paid off. Took the fuel about 45 min before my run.

Prepped dinner and got the pups taken care of. I knew I was going to want to eat as soon as this thing was over. So I got my Whole Foods dinner ready to go - fed the pups, just made sure the rest of the night was easy.

9.5 miles of running down.
And I got to pick up @erinlevey.tfr from the airport after. Love it. by @adamlevey.tfr

19 days to HYROX Denver. Locked in.

10 miles on the treadmill today, and everything is starting to come together.

Yesterday was over two hours of hard training, burning more than 1,400 calories. Today was about showing up recovered, fueled, and ready to put in more work. Legs felt great, feet felt light, and the miles just clicked.

At this point in prep, I know where my fitness stands. I know my weaknesses, and I know exactly what needs work.

The next 19 days are about being intentional. Every workout, every meal, every hour of sleep, every recovery session. No wasted opportunities. No cutting corners.

The work is adding up. The confidence is building.

19 days to sharpen the edge and chase that sub-70.

23 DAYS OUT. HYROX PRO DENVER.

The focus this prep has been simple: BE INTENTIONAL.

Not every workout needs to be fast. Not every session needs to leave you on the floor.

Warm up properly. Focus on form. Execute every rep. Don’t cut corners. Put in the work, even when it’s not exciting.

Some days we build strength. Other days we build the engine. Every day we work with a purpose.

The goal is to attack every workout now so I’m ready to attack the course in Denver.

23 days. Keep building.

26 DAYS TO HYROX PRO DENVER | SUNDAY 10-MILE RUN

Yesterday was one of those workouts that just didn’t go my way. Physically, mentally, nothing seemed to click. It got in my head, and I walked away frustrated with my performance.

But that’s training. Not every session is going to be a great one, and how you respond to the bad days matters just as much as what you do on the good ones.

This morning was about getting back into a groove and starting the week strong.

Took my time getting ready, made sure my stomach was feeling good, and got my fueling dialed in before stepping onto the treadmill.

Today’s fueling:

* 2 scoops of BPN G1M Sport
* 1 BPN Go Bar
* 5g creatine
* Electrolytes throughout the run
* A couple of gels to keep the carbs coming

10 miles later, I felt great. Strong, controlled pace, legs feeling good, and most importantly, my head was back where it needed to be.

Sometimes the best thing you can do after a rough workout is show up the next day and remind yourself what you’re capable of.

26 days until HYROX Pro Denver. The work is there. The fitness is there. Now it’s about sharpening everything, staying consistent, and showing up ready to chase that sub-70 PR.

One workout at a time. Let’s get after it.

28 DAYS TO HYROX DENVER.

First workout back since Outlast Utah, and the legs are feeling GOOD.

After putting 30K on the legs last weekend, it felt great to get back to some faster interval work today. The engine is feeling strong, recovery has been solid, and we’re right back to work.

Today’s Tempo Intervals:

* Distance: 9.11 miles
* Time: 1:13:17
* Avg Pace: 8:02/mi
* Avg HR: 152 BPM
* Calories Burned: 922

With four weeks until Denver, the focus is simple: sharpen the engine, keep building speed, and make sure I’m ready to compete when I step onto that course.

Two races on deck in Denver:

HYROX Men’s Pro — Another opportunity to chase that sub-70 goal.

HYROX Open Doubles — My first time racing Open Doubles, and I’ll be teaming up with my younger brother Max for his HYROX debut. Really looking forward to sharing that experience with him.

The fitness is there. The legs feel strong. Now it’s about making every session count and showing up ready to execute.

28 days. Two races. One more opportunity to see what this body is capable of.

Let’s get to work.

Outlast Salt Lake City, UT - What a day.

This race was never on the calendar. It wasn’t something I had been training for specifically. But when I found out about it - I just knew it was next.

There has been a lot of popularity in the endurance world these days around the backyard ultra races - specifically Last Man Standing format. A 3-4mile lap every hour on the hour till there is one person left. That is definitely something I would like to train for and go after - but this format wasn’t that at all.

Outlast is a 5k every hour on the hour for 6 hours. So while last man standing is about endurance - Outlast is about speed. You know how far you are going. 6 laps. A 5k each. Top 5 in each gender qualify for the Outlast Championships. LFG.

Erin and I got to the race venue at 6am and setup base camp. I got my bib, got our tent and gear setup. Kept hydrating. Erin got cozy in the pile of towels and blankets in the middle of the tent and took a nap. It was adorable.

Around 7:15 I started fueling.
- 1 scoop G1M
- 1 scoop G1M Sport
- 1 Go Bar

Did some stretching, foam rolled, massage gunned and hit the bathroom probably 3 times. I was ready to go. We had a strategy - just time to execute. And enjoy the view. It’s freakin beautiful out here. If you haven’t been to Utah - it’s unreal.

The strategy for the first lap:
- get into a groove
- learn the course
- take stock of how your body feels immediately after.

Lined up right at the front. I knew that I would be putting out a strong effort regardless of who was lining up next to me. In endurance racing - it’s hard to say I’m going for the podium - as my coach and I always talk about - it really just depends on who shows up that day. There are levels to every game. You need to respect the levels. Because only when you do will you truly respect the work it takes to go up the levels.

The top 5 in both gender qualify for the Outlast World Championships in DFW in December, 2027. Again, I knew I was going to push - but I told myself that if I found myself in a field where I had the speed to do it - you better believe I was going for it.

The first lap - my lungs felt it immediately. While I train consistently 6 da by @adamlevey.tfr

TWO DAYS OUT FROM OUTLAST UTAH. LAST WORKOUT IN THE BOOKS.

That’s a wrap on training. One final interval session on the treadmill today to keep the legs moving while minimizing the impact on the knees before Saturday.

Today’s numbers:

* 7.32 miles
* 7:58/mile average pace
* ~750 calories burned

Really solid session to close things out. Legs are feeling strong, the body is responding well, and I’m feeling ready to get back out there and compete.

Tomorrow is all about preparation. Final gear checks, going through the checklist, dialing in nutrition, and spending as much time off my feet as possible. The work is done. Now it’s about showing up rested, fueled, and ready to execute.

Saturday’s challenge: One 5K every hour, on the hour, for six hours. 30K total.

Different race format. Different challenge. Another opportunity to test the engine, push my limits, and see what this training has built.

Two days. Let’s get after it.
