A month ago, I wasn’t even sure I’d be able to run this marathon. Between injuries, setbacks, and plenty of self-doubt, just making it to the starting line felt like a victory.

But this weekend reminded me what patience, perseverance, and a little faith can accomplish. 33 minutes better than last time I ran @towaterfront42k two years ago.

Beyond grateful for everyone who supported me along the way, I couldn’t have done this without you. ❤️

Another marathon #9 in the books. The journey continues. 🏃‍♂️

Ramble on. 🤘

“I don’t have a problem with alcohol…”

But somehow, every time I drank, I became someone I didn’t recognize.

At some point you have to stop blaming the night, the people, or the circumstances—and ask yourself what you’re allowing in every time you pick up the bottle.

Still processing everything from the @sulphurspringstrailrace 100km.

The emotions have been all over the place since race day, but looking back, I’m incredibly proud of what I accomplished. This journey was six months of early mornings, long runs, strength sessions, meal prep, learning, setbacks, and growth. Sometimes you have to lose in order to grow, and this experience taught me more than I could have imagined.

A huge thank you to my coach @iamtimwalcott for getting me stronger than I’ve ever been and helping dial in a nutrition plan that gave me every chance to succeed.

Shoutout to the @bewarexcoffeerunco crew for constantly pushing the limits and showing what’s possible when you surround yourself with people who challenge you to be better. @jerellefisher @benson.and.i @cuffyyyyyyyy @alexandra.ho @maddievohle @seanantonyoconnor

And to @lina_jt ❤️ thank you for being so patient and understanding while my life basically revolved around lifting, running, eating, and napping for the last six months 🤣😘

Appreciate all the messages, support, and encouragement from everyone. The goal was never just the finish line—it was becoming the person capable of getting there.

2016 → 2026.

In 2016, Wednesday nights were for drinking. I’d take Thursdays off so I could go all-in: a 15-pack of Molson Export 🏴‍☠️ and a couple tall boys for the shower. Thursdays were more of the same—golfing or just hanging out, always drinking. I was at the peak of my alcoholism and thought that was “fun.”

Fast forward to now. Wednesday nights look very different. Middle of winter. Shoes on. Out the door. Logging miles to train for the @sulphurspringstrailrace 100km this May.

Same night. Completely different life.

Progress isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s just choosing a run instead of a drink, one Wednesday at a time. 🙏

“Can’t you just have a couple drinks?”

I wish.
But for me, “a couple” is just the warm-up.

Two drinks turns into a 3–4-maybe 5 days, zero productivity, bad decisions, and a personality I retired for a reason. (Hall of fame numbers tho 🎖️)

I tried moderation. (Boring)
I tried rules. (🤢)
Alcohol ignored all of them.

So no — I can’t jus have a couple.
Not because I hate fun… but because I love momentum, mornings, long runs, and remembering my weekends.

I’ll take sober me over hungover me every time.

If this made you laugh and hit close to home… you’re not alone. 🙏

5 months & 864km of training. Countless early mornings, long runs, strength sessions, setbacks, lessons, and moments of doubt.

The race was incredible, but looking back, the most meaningful part wasn’t crossing the finish line—it was everything that happened before it.

Training for @sulphurspringstrailrace taught me that growth doesn’t happen on race day. It happens when nobody is watching. When you choose discipline over comfort. When you trust the process before the results show up.

Most importantly, it reminded me how much there is to be grateful for.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever trained for? 👇
