Title: KONTROL Artist: Adia Elora Rothschild Medium: Mixed media (acrylic/paper)on canvas Dimensions: 36x48inches Location: NYC Price: contact with inquiries In kontrol, I explore how control moves across faces, language, and the spaces we build—claimed, imposed, and often dispersed. The title’s off-balance spelling keeps the idea of power from settling. Overlapping eyes and mouths that assert “my truth” sit inside fragments of headlines and borrowed language, recording a self that is already multiple: looking and looked at at once. Speech happens, but it happens inside noise. The urban forms are not backdrop; they take part in the same negotiation. Modernization appears as both an ongoing push and a contested inheritance. Arrows, question marks, and the repeated “Why?” refuse resolution. Play, jeopardy, and control share the surface. The density of the painting places the viewer inside that circulation rather than outside a finished argument. Between the systems that organize perception and the act of marking, a small interval stays open. kontrol keeps the question moving. #adiarothschild #artist #contemporaryart #neoexpressionism #nyc by @adiaelorarothschild
