Setting Up Tracking Is Not Enough. You Need to Test It! 🎯

Imagine setting up conversion tracking for a local service business, but the tracking doesn't work as expected.

You might miss valuable customer actions without even knowing it.

That's why testing is an important part of conversion tracking.

🔍 What I'm Learning:
- Using Google Tag Manager Preview Mode
- Checking whether Tags fire correctly
- Testing Triggers based on user interactions
- Identifying potential tracking issues

Key Takeaway: Don't just set up tracking. Test it before relying on the data.

I'm continuing to practice Google Tag Manager and Google Ads conversion tracking to better understand how local businesses can measure meaningful customer actions.

A website visitor is valuable but knowing what they do on your website is even more important. 🎯

For a local service business, not every website visit turns into a potential customer. That's why tracking important user actions matters.

🔴 The Challenge

Visitors may call your business, submit a lead form, or send an email — but without proper tracking, it's difficult to understand these actions.

🟢 My Practice: Google Tag Manager

In today's practical session, I explored Tags and Triggers on a service-based website to track important actions, including:

📞 Phone Number Clicks
📝 Lead Form Submissions
📧 Email Clicks

The goal is to understand how these interactions can be measured and used as valuable conversion data.

Key Takeaway: Don't just measure website traffic. Understand how visitors interact with your business.

I'm continuing to learn and practice Google Ads conversion tracking to help local service businesses make better marketing decisions.

Getting clicks but not enough leads? You're missing part of the picture. 🎯

For a local service business, website traffic alone doesn't tell you whether your Google Ads are generating real opportunities.

🔴 The Problem
People may click your ad, visit your website, and leave without calling or requesting a quote. Without proper tracking, it's harder to understand what’s working.

🟢 The Solution
Set up conversion tracking to measure meaningful actions, such as:
- 📞 Phone calls
- 📝 Quote form submissions
- 📅 Booking requests

💡 My takeaway:
Don't just measure clicks. Understand which actions can turn visitors into potential customers.

I'm currently learning and practicing Google Ads conversion tracking with Google Tag Manager (GTM) to better understand how local businesses can measure their lead generation efforts.

Tomorrow, I'll share a practical look at my GTM tags and triggers setup. 🚀

Better tracking. Clearer insights. Smarter marketing decisions.

For a junk removal business, showing up on Google is only one part of the job. Your ad also needs to match what potential customers are searching for.

🔴 The Problem: Generic ad copy may fail to communicate the service, value, or next step clearly.

🟢 The Solution: Match your keywords with relevant ad copy, highlight a genuine customer benefit, and use a clear call to action.

Example:

🔎 Keyword: 𝐣𝐮𝐧𝐤 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐦𝐞

📢 Sample Ad: Fast & Reliable Junk Removal | Request a Free Quote Today!

💡 My takeaway: Better targeting starts with understanding customer intent—and relevant messaging helps connect searches with the right service.

As I continue learning and practicing Google Ads, I'm focusing on one goal: helping local service businesses reach the right audience and turn relevant searches into potential leads.

Getting clicks but no calls? 📵

Your junk removal ads might be targeting the wrong keywords.

❌ Clicks, no calls:
“what is junk removal”
“junk removal cost”
“free junk pickup”

✅ Clicks that call:
“junk removal near me”
“same day junk removal”
“furniture removal service”
“hot tub removal”
“estate cleanout service”

The second group has junk in the garage and a phone in hand. They don’t want info. They want a truck. 🚚

What fixes it:
✔️ High-intent keywords only
✔️ Negative keywords (free, DIY, jobs)
✔️ Call extensions for one-tap calling
✔️ Separate ad groups per service

Fewer wasted clicks. Lower cost per lead. More booked jobs. 📞

💬 Comment “AUDIT” or DM me and I’ll check your keywords.

💾 Save this for your next campaign.
📤 Send it to a junk removal owner who needs it.

The right keyword can bring the right customer. 🎯

Today, I practiced Google Ads Keyword Research & Match Types using a Junk Removal example.

🔎 Search Intent
🎯 Keyword Relevance
⚙️ Broad, Phrase & Exact Match
🔥 High-intent keywords like “junk removal near me”

💡 My takeaway:
More keywords ≠ better campaign.
The right keywords + the right intent = better targeting.

I’m learning to think beyond clicks and focus on how the right search can connect a local business with the right customer.

More traffic doesn’t always mean more junk removal jobs.

The problem? Many businesses focus on clicks instead of qualified calls and booked jobs.

For junk removal, high-intent searches like “junk removal near me” or “same-day junk removal” can bring customers who are ready to take action.

The solution?

Right keywords + strong ads + conversion tracking = better leads.

Google Ads isn’t just about getting clicks.
It’s about getting the right customers.

Great Google Ads campaigns don’t start with ads they start with a proper structure.

🎯As part of my Google Ads learning journey, today I practiced how a Search Campaign is structured and how each part works together.

What I learned:

🔹 Campaign → Budget, location, bidding and overall settings

🔹 Ad Group → Organizes closely related keywords and ads

🔹 Keywords → Connects the campaign with what people are searching for

🔹 Ads → The message potential customers see on Google

💡 My takeaway:

A campaign is not just about adding keywords and ads.

Proper structure is important for managing and optimizing a campaign effectively.

I’m still learning, but I’m trying to practice every topic instead of only watching the class.

Learning → Practicing → Documenting 🚀

Next topic: Keyword Research & Match TypesIf you notice any mistake in my understanding, kindly let me know in the comments or inbox. I’ll be happy to learn and correct it.

One Google Ads account is easy to manage. But what happens when you have multiple accounts? 👀

That’s where Google Ads Manager Account (MCC) comes in.

Today, I learned how MCC helps organize and manage multiple Google Ads accounts from one place.

I also practiced creating and exploring an MCC account myself.

💡 My biggest takeaway:
Before managing campaigns, understanding the Google Ads account structure is important.

Still learning. Still practicing.

🚀 Day 02 — My Google Ads Learning Journey

Today I learned how to create a Google Ads account, understand a Manager Account (MCC), and build a basic Google Search Campaign.

But instead of only watching the class, I decided to practice what I learned and document the process.

What I practiced today:

• Google Ads Account setup
• Manager Account (MCC)
• Account structure
• Search Campaign creation
• Basic campaign settings

💡 My biggest takeaway:

Google Ads is not just about knowing where to click.

It's about understanding why you're making each decision inside a campaign.

I'm still at the learning stage, but I'm trying to turn every class into practical experience.

Learning → Practicing → Documenting

This is Day 02 of my journey to becoming a Google Ads PPC practitioner.
