A little excerpt from Bruch’s Eight Pieces, Op. 83, No. 7, performed at Britten Pears Arts on Friday.

A lovely afternoon at Snape Maltings — thank you to everyone who joined us!

AERA Ensemble brought a programme of musical contrasts to the Britten Studio this afternoon, with a lively performance spanning Beethoven, Bruch and Stravinsky.

The concert moved from the youthful energy and warmth of Beethoven’s Clarinet Trio, through the rich, romantic expression of Bruch’s eight miniatures, to the spirited and dramatic world of Stravinsky’s Suite from L’Histoire du soldat.

Join us next week in the Peter Pears Recital Room for Into The Gathering Dark, a recital by mezzo-soprano Lydia Shariff and pianist Francesca Lauri.
