Being mindful of how my ears are being perceived! ✅

As you can see by the literal TAPE holding my headphones together (😭) they get a lot of use lmao. I had to ask myself.. how can i maximize our joint slay, and this is what I landed on.

A fun little quick craft + already have ideas for new and improved model, but for now.. excited to wear these on the train while I wistfully gaze out the window, listening to the same 4 songs repeated!

The music video for @samsmith and @ddlovato new song, I’m Ready, is out. An anthemic, prideful, powerful, homoerotic piece of art. Such a pleasure being apart of the wardrobe team!

I got my cardio for the week running through the gym, fitting, spray painting, and attaching accessories to headpieces with @paguma , so happy with how they turned out! so sparkly!! when they.. didn’t fall off.

Between a week of late nights, helping the AMAZING @ouget and @arielbrickman.artist cut and build all of the custom looks for the dancers/wrestlers/divers/gymnasts, cinching in drag queens n queer baddies, playing cinderella with the heels for the @aquawillies , and making it to the food truck before they stopped serving breakfast burritos, we all had our work cut out for us, and it all came together sooo well!

New lil project! 🇬🇭🧵👚 1 year ago, I got this fabric from my lovely cousin at @makolaeba , a fabric and supply store in Accra! If you have a trip to Ghana planned, check it out

The to-do list for my costume job has had a way of gerrymandering the neighborhoods in my brain that send the “finish sewing project” synapses.. but sharpening one’s sword in the name of delectation is more important now than ever before!

I have a lot of other projects in the works and a desire to share them , so stay tuned and i always appreciate feedback for what to do next time!

This also serves as my “what i would have worn to #coachella if i went” post!

New upcycling thrift flip project!

I wasnt gonna make a video until I already began deconstructing everything so i dont have much before footage. But just so ya know, i thrifted a tattered jacket and repaired a few holes, replaced a broken zipper, cropped it, downsized it so it fit me, and used the scraps to make little clip on bows!

Had man experiences, feelings, revelations etc during the project.. i may experiment with a longer form, maybe voiceover version of this video to go in further detail? 😗 so apologies in advance for the incoming overload but yeah! let me know what you think!! #afarlaamade #sewing #diycrafts #upcycling taken in Los Angeles, California by @afarlaa

Today i present to you.. this!

#anyway, Image by @magdalenabay is one of my fave songs this summer, I especially loved Mica’s face makeup in the MV. Then, I went to a masquerade release party (go stream Good Part by @ceranda_xo NOW ) PLUS theres a photo of FKA Twigs with squiggly lines on her face for Eusexua that i love. All those inspired me to make.. some sort of squiggly face covering thing. Here we are!

ALSO another thing i always find a challenge with these is symmetry so twas a good exercise in that! Enjoy! :-)

Another silly little video for a silly lil headphone jewelry piece, enormous thank you everyone that liked the first one! This ones for all my fellow gay tote bag enthusiast.. why get a lanyard when you can BE the lanyard?

inspired by @charli_xcx , brat, and the glitchy PC aesthetic . Also ngl used a different mockup wire and .. the apparatus thats holding it to the headphones.. flimsy.. so gonna have to go back to the drawing board in THAT regard but nevertheless, we love the creative process, troubleshooting and all :-)

First off: Happy New Year! Secondly: one last sewing project to close out 2023. #upcycled some thrifted pleather pants + old samples + fringe trim scraps!

#thriftflip Inspired by a pair of leather chap-pants from i thiiink MNML? Gave em a lil extra custom afarlaa touch .. and, here we are!

Worked on and off on these when i felt inspired, so very glad to have finished em in time to celebrate NYE! Additionally also got to use some industrial machines which always make things better! (Couldnt film all dat but the name of the game for the year was doing the best with what we GOT 🥹🥂!

🌞🌜Roach Wand Rings! Now available on my site!

We love whimsy, the stars, and not burning finger tips! Hold ur joints, eat hot cheetos mess free, portion out spaghetti idk!

Story time: I actually made and recorded all these back on 4/20 lmao. I brought these to a very fun meet and greet with a singer i love! I was waiting for photos from the event, and just .. never got them 😭 then, life did as life does, so these have been silently sitting on my site for months, but out of no where recently a friend found them and ordered - So took that as a cue to revisit :-) !

I’m considering also creating a version with a clip vs. a loop, if that sounds of interest! would love to hear suggestions of other versions youd like to see as well!! Yaaa thats it hehe enjoy!
