A little glimpse into the process.

Grateful to my brother for capturing these moments while I was lost in the work. There’s something special about seeing the process from another perspective.

Big appreciation to @creative__.family for bringing us together for Stylist Vs Models and creating a space where artists can connect, experiment, and create.

Thank you for capturing the art, the energy, and the moment. More to come. ✨

The smoke rises behind them, carrying away the boys they used to be. Today, the earth shakes beneath the heavy, proud steps of Makolwane.

This artwork has been sitting in my archives since 2022

When I first created it, the vision was bigger than just my own perspective. I wanted it to become a collaboration, a meeting point between different artists, different ideas, and different creative energies. I shared it with a few artists whose work I admired, hoping they would add their own voice to the piece.

But sometimes art has its own timeline.

The collaborations never fully materialized. Some artists couldn't find a direction that aligned with where the piece was heading, while others simply never got around to finishing their part. So the artwork remained unfinished, quietly waiting in the background for years.

This June, while revisiting old projects, I stumbled across it again.

Looking at it with fresh eyes, I realized I didn't want it to stay incomplete any longer. Instead of waiting for someone else to finish the story, I decided to continue it myself. What followed was something unexpected. The process pushed me far outside my comfort zone and led me into a retro-inspired design direction that I had never really explored before.

In a way, this piece became a collaboration after all ,not with other artists, but with the version of myself from four years ago.

Sometimes unfinished work isn't a failure. Sometimes it's simply waiting for the right moment, the right mindset, and the right version of you to bring it to life.

Started in 2022. Finished in 2026. The journey was worth the wait.
