“She wasn’t supposed to get this far”
As a girl from the Bronx with two immigrant parents that have no college education, the odds were never in my favor.

These past four years, I’ve experienced a nearly Earth shattering shift in my life. My father left my mother, I lost my childhood home and I had to quickly rise up and help manage my mother’s business and finances, all while fighting to stay in school and finish my degree.

The amount of tears I cried, the sleepless nights filled with anxiety and doubts, the countless “why me’s” I yelled into oblivion, only God knows.

Through all of this, I managed to achieve summa cum laude and a whopping 4.0 in my major of psychology.

That little girl taking naps after school on the floor of her mom’s noisy store and doing homework/studying through the noise is now a young woman holding a B.S in psychology from thee Howard University, where our nation’s Vice President once attended. God is real.

As I turn the page to this next chapter, I will leave you with this quote that has been my oxygen for these past four years:

“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Joshua 1:9
