This past year, I had the incredible opportunity from @boundless_company to be their 2025 ambassador! Ever since attending my first BJAC camp in 2021, I have fallen in love with this company and the morals that they endorse. It is so special to have people who work to bring juniors together and make our sport a community. I have met so many amazing people through BJAC, and I’m endlessly grateful for the experiences that I’ve had. Thank you to BJAC and the junior community for allowing me to be the 2025 ambassador. It’s been an amazing year. I am so excited for you all to meet the 2026 Boundless ambassador, and see what they have in store. Great things are coming! 💜💜💜 by @agility_monsters

Last week, I had the opportunity to interview @trueblueteam / @_gab.cas and get some insight on how she manages college & dogs! Gabby is an @boundless_company camp alum, and is now a junior at Le Moyne College. She trains her two dogs in multiple sports, such as flyball, agility, dock diving, and confirmation. Gabby is also a double major, as well as a Resident Advisor for the college. Gabby chose to keep her dogs on campus with her, and I’m glad that I’m able to share her advice for juniors moving into the transition of college! Thank you Gabby for all of your insights! Also thank you to @boundless_company for allowing me to shed light onto this little talked about phase of being a junior handler. As the 2025 Boundless Ambassador, I hope that I can help people ease into this transition, and bring insight and advice to the topic. by @agility_monsters
Thank you so much to @_gab.cas for letting me borrow Casey! My agility fix has been fulfilled. Fun fact, Gabby and I go to the same college! While I chose to not have the dogs in school with me, Gabby manages taking care of both of her dogs while double majoring and working as an RA for the college. I could never 😅 This was definitely a great outing for me to stay on top of my agility skills 😜 - - - I am the 2025 Boundless Ambassador! As some people may know, I started college about 3 weeks ago! College and dogs is a topic that isn’t often discussed in the agility world, so I’m hoping that my transparency will help other young handlers who plan to continue in the sport know more about this transition. For anyone who is curious, here are college + dog options, plus pros and cons. Continued in comments 😁 Option 1: Leaving your dogs home & living on campus: This is the option that I personally decided would be best for myself and my dogs. My major is intense, and requires a lot of time dedicated to studying, and later internships in hospitals. Because of this, I decided it wouldn’t be fair to bring a dog to college with me. Paired with the fact that I wanted to be completely immersed in my college and everything that they offer! Pros: -Don’t have to worry about caring for a dog while pursing your education -Able to get the full college experience while being on campus Cons: -Much harder to train dogs consistently while away -Missing the babies! Option 2: Bringing your dog with you!: An option that many young adults involved in the dog world choose is to bring their dogs to live with them. Accommodations need to be made depending on the school that you attend to make sure you can have your dog(s) on campus or in off campus housing. If one of your main concerns while attending college is being able to train consistently, this option is better for you! Pros: -Able to train consistently and stay on top of training -Don’t have to leave your dog(s) Cons: -Need to focus on dogs wellbeing while in school -May not be able to be fully immersed on campus Option 3: Staying home & commuting to college: A final option that many handlers may choose is staying home and commuting to a local school! This is a great choice for anyone who wants to continue their training, and also wants to lessen the financial burden of college by cutting out housing costs. Pros: -No college housing costs -Can continue training as usual (making sure to work around your class schedule) Cons: -Harder to be immersed in college campus culture by @agility_monsters
