forgive me, i forgot who i was and all that i loved to do for a sec., but it’s all slowly coming back to me! spending time doing crafty activities every now and again reminded me that it doesn’t have to be that serious and i can in fact do things for shits & giggles, so that’s my April mantra ⋆✴︎˚｡⋆

the burn out is HEAVY, however i am changing up my priorities this month and putting all fun things front and center; this includes ahm which i’ve very much been neglecting out of exhaustion (*ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)♡ ༘❀˖°ꕤ*.ﾟ by @ahappymush

friends and lovers, we’ve got a market just for you 💋🪞🕯️🥀🦢💌♥️

Sat, february 14th • 9am-2pm
136 yanonali st. • dart garden at the funk zone right across from dart coffee co.

stop by with your hunnies to grab a latte from @dartcoffeeco, get dreamy glamour portraits from @cherthismoment, treat yourselves to some cute gifts from local vendors, & have the sweetest valentines day morning!

we will also be hosting @sbresiste , a local grassroots rapid response group, who will be tabling and sharing concrete ways through which you can directly get involved as our communities continue to be impacted from the ongoing and inhumane 🧊raids.

we created this event to hold space for collective joy when our community is experiencing so much heartbreak. As immigrants we want to see more of us existing outside of pain. we also deserve to dream, to love, to make art without having to earn that through suffering.

#community

thank you thank you for all who stopped by! by @ahappymush

sweet friends & community members 💌

my sisters and I, with the support of our friends from Dart, are creating a space intended for safe gathering, to share joy & resources, as well as raise funds for those who are actively being attacked and kidnapped by🧊 within our own communities.

@cherthismoment will be taking portraits starting at 1pm at the @dartcoffeeco garden to raise funds that will go towards families, to help buy out street vendors, & all other vulnerable individuals.

Inspired by @winsorkinkade_ i’ll have a table dedicated to making bracelets that will have rapid response numbers on them in case of emergency, which we’ll distribute later on to people who may need them (need to figure out details on how i can do that…dm me if you can help me out❤️). I’ll also make more of the “COMMUNITY IS RESISTANCE” prints to sell and continue to collect funds to donate!

Additionally, please feel free to bring your own crafting materials/ hobbies, whether it’s painting, knitting, jewelry-making, reading, etc. so we can be artsy together!

As immigrants experiencing these challenging and honestly very traumatizing times, we hope for the Garden to be a grounding space where we can share resources, uplift each other with knowledge rather than fear, & simply be in community <3

-Cher, Barby, & Mich

P.S. we want this space to be kept within community & for those who are being the most affected/impacted. So please send this over to any loved ones, friends, or neighbors who could use all the loveeeee <3 by @ahappymush

COMMUNITY IS RESISTANCE. ART IS RESISTANCE.

the last couple of days (months really) have been rough.
i keep crying; crying for my community, crying for families being separated, crying for children who go to school stressed thinking about whether or not today will be the day the return home to their parents having been taken. I’ve been crying out of sadness, out of anger, out of fear for those of us who find ourselves having to balance trying to show up in our everyday life acting like everything’s okay, when all we can think about on our way to work, to get groceries, HELL, on our way to the car is if we’ll also be the ones getting kidnapped and taken that day. Worse than that is the fact that on top of it all, THAT exact feeling is multiplied by 10000x stressing about that situation happening to our loved ones, our neighbors, people within our own communities.

in order to do something along with that crying, i put my skills to use and made prints which i’ll be selling at my upcoming popups or online (send me a dm!) and will be donating half of the proceeds to organizations helping out with legal fees or directly to fundraisers of people who’ve been affected!

if you’re one of the lucky ones who don’t ever have to be in this type of situation, i hope you not only SEE YOUR PRIVILEGE, BUT ALSO USE IT TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE YOU’RE FRIENDS WITH, WORK WITH, ARE IN COMMUNITY WITH WHO ARE CURRENTLY BEING TARGETED, DETAINED, ABDUCTED & DISAPPEARED.

thank you for your support <3 by @ahappymush
