POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi Friends!! It's with great joy and pride that I can finally share what I've up to for the last six (plus) months!! ✨ This is the main reason why I've been away for such a long time!

I was challenged to create and produce collections for an incredible space.

Like every big project, it was challenging, but so rewarding! All the iterations, prototyping, making, drawing, sketching.... I felt like I was back in university (and few years after ahah), making those big, challenging and ambitious design projects I so love ❣️

As a designer it's important to bring a client's vision to life and to create, accommodate and redesign as the process evolves

Alongside my client, three different collections were born: tea, coffee and Kombucha.
Each one to be enjoyed individually or together; as a part of the overall experience, rituals and spirituality found in this space.

As the project grew and evolved, details were added and polished, to create one of kind, unique and personalized pieces.
And of course, no piece could go without Chris' distinctive zodiac signs! 💛💛

I was able to create a ritual within the collections. To invite the users to experience life in a slow-made, natural and spiritual way. I want everyone to feel all of this, not only through the services provided by this amazing team but through the pieces they touch and feel.

Lastly, I'd like to thank Chris and the @wheelhouse.lisboa team for taking me along on this adventure! I wish them nothing but success on this new space and beautiful project that I was lucky to be part of!
I invite you all to visit this space and experience life through this spiritual and healing lens.

Obrigada @chriscorsini

PS: we have a few more surprises and exciting projects coming your way, stay tuned!

I hope you enjoy this as much I do!
Love,
Marta Maria ✨✨ by @ai.martamaria

The CURVE Mugs are here!!! protected under INPI ref. n6840

Hello lovelies! Long time no see I know! I'm here to present you the finally finished and perfected curve mugs!

Why the Curve Handle? well, I'm here to explain!
I've always loved inclusive design as well as quirky good design pieces that actually work. The Curve Mug comes with a left and right handle.
The curvature of the handle allows you to hold your mug comfortably with straining your wrist, as it follows the natural curve of your hand! I've come up with this slightly different detail as way to bridge - I hope, the difficulties people with reduced hand and wrist motion might have, this way spills are less likely and I hope it brings a bit more autonomy and representation to those who are benefited by it!

OR If you are the only leftie or righty in the house and want a mug exclusively for you!
Either way you use it, I hope its a piece that brings you joy and happiness to your home!

Let me know what you think! by @ai.martamaria

You might recognize Marta from occasionally covering shifts behind our counter, or as the artist responsible for the masterpiece that is our new dog water bowl. Since a big number of our regulars are also incredibly crafty, we decided to merge the two worlds.

November 21st, we are hosting a Bookish Ceramic Workshop. The premise is straightforward: you will use basic hand-building techniques to make your own personalized reading mug!

You’ll have total creative control. The default design features “READER” stamped on the side, but you can change it to whatever you want using the provided stamps, letters and carving tools. You can build it as chaotic, minimalist or literary as you want!

Saturday, November 21, 5.30–7.30pm

€40 (includes all clay, colors and firing)

The finished glazed mug will be ready to pick up at the shop in 2 to 3 weeks. by @ai.martamaria

@ai.martamaria made us a water bowl. Dog-eared, naturally. Perfect opportunity to go through our archives and post the best bookshop dog models of the past year. To answer the most frequently asked question at the door: yes, dogs are always allowed inside. Now they just get better service. Swipe to meet them!! by @ai.martamaria

Collection: Peach Sunset 🌅

An Ode to Light and Nerikomi gradients

I’ve dreamt about being able to create an illusion of lights in my ceramic work ever since I’ve started playing around with coloured clay and exploring the world of Nerikomi!

This collection is a concept made real. The lights, the slow shade transition, the slick black line… all create an intricate and vibrant atmosphere.

They remind me of the warm summer sunsets, from soft beiges to vibrant oranges, gradually appearing, looking just as a setting sun 🌞

From a single sheet of green foresty moss and beige sands, a composition of colours and textures is born.

Hi! I have been waiting to do a project like this one for a while, but the colours never seemed quite what I was looking for. Fortunately, experimenting with colour gradients and coloured clay, always leaves extra bits and pieces behind ✨

These are the remnants of the Forest Moss exclusive collection. Feel the chocolatey earth and sand as you discover the green layers of the trees.

Follow the paths the green gradient moss create through the soft beige clay as they unwind into a clearing filled earthy feels and forest colours.

Just like in Monsanto, Lisbon, where all the small patches of green between the boroughs and roads meet in the heart of the forest 🌳

A little Moss Forest 🌳

I’ve been in love with this little collection ever since it came out of the kiln. The clean lines, the gradient colours, the texture of the black sandy clay dividing.
They remind me of the woods, the stark contrast between the light and the trees with their shades of green.

It also doesn’t hurt to see a cute little face hidden in plain view in this pattern!

These are the first pieces created with the intent of possible pattern repetition. They are still intricate and rigorous in their making process, but there’s something about being able to do them again, that just warms my heart

Have you met the new girls in town? ✨✨

These are the new ladies in stock, now in cup format!
Wether a perfect nerikomi, with a precision perfect line, or a pattern made of leftover marbling and a white clay to a wonderful marbling swirl… they are perfect for your all-day cappuccinos.
In moss green gradient, vibrant orange-y sunset, earthy sand or swirly bubblegum pink, there’s always one for every season ❄️🌸🌞🍁

Which type is your favourite?

Each piece is not only unique, but part of a limited long and complex production, resulting most times a maximum of three pieces per design.
