HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my soulmate. My dancing partner, the Tina Fey to my Amy Poehler, the beat to the melody of my life… There are many a words and little space here. Doing life with you is living in authenticity, joyous wonder, rage for the things we’re passionate about, and a whole lot of unconditional love. It’s something I’ve never known, and I was lucky enough to catch lightening in a bottle with you. Proud I get the privilege to watch you grow and to exist in your sphere. The time of our lives has been lived across state lines in quirky Airbnb’s, in small sweaty apartments in a big city, in giant crowds that remind us to slow down because life moves so fast, and in awfully painted childhood bedrooms. I have no doubt that the time of our lives is also ahead. I love you so!! For lifetimes!♾️💖 by @aidnicjen

LESBIAN VISIBILITY WEEK!🧡🤍🩷 It’s come to my attention that I’ve never actually posted about my sexuality and identity as a lesbian. Honestly because it didn’t feel necessary. If you were a safe person to me, you just knew. It’s not a secret, but I didn’t have the desire in myself to make a statement. Being lesbian isn’t something I felt was a shock. I’ve known my whole life that I am gay, and I just lived in that identity quietly. Now more than ever it is important to me to make known that this was because I simply didn’t care to hear what people thought about my honest reality. I didn’t have the energy to debate how, with whom, and why I should get to love, and live happily ever after. I want to make it CLEAR that it was not private out of fear or guilt. I’ve been through many a stages in my life, but love has never, and will never be a point of shame. All of that to say, lesbians are powerhouses and I feel lucky to have been born into such a resilient family. The beautiful humans who came before me possess a level of unwavering authenticity, deep courage, rage for injustice, and compassion I am constantly working to live up to. I love lesbians, I love the lgbtqia+ community, I love love, and I love YOU! #lesbianvisibilityweek #lgbtqia🏳️‍🌈 #loveislove by @aidnicjen
yearly recap but it’s just January *sigh* by @aidnicjen
Holiday details✨🍷🧊💝 2 things exist at the same time. Immense gratitude and an immensely deep well of sadness. My heart goes out to: All who grieve. All who have to spend the holiday within 4 cold walls of a medical room. All who don’t have family to spend it with, or choose to avoid family because it’s safer. Those traumatized by religion and feeling conflicted. All the queer and trans youth. All the people continually fighting an exhausting battle. All the family’s that were forcefully separated. And especially those in Congo, Sudan, and Palestine. It feels contradictory to be celebrating, yet my grateful heart prevails. Our authenticity is our light, and that’s something no one can take away! You matter, you are valued, you are exactly where you belong. Let’s take care of each other. New years can feel scary, but we’re gonna walk it hand in hand, together. I love you.🫂 by @aidnicjen
Oh, Chicago! One year of you showing me an immeasurable amount of love. You’ve healed parts of me I didn’t know needed fixing.🫂 I love the saying that if a place is calling you, and you can’t ignore it, it’s because part of you is meant to unfold there. I remember writing a letter to myself at 13 longing to be this consistent. The strength it took at 16 to survive for the hope of being here. Who I am now. Where I am now. I could cry a million tears over how lucky I feel to live this life. I’m glad the Windy City carried those whispers to my soul.💨🫧 Thanks for choosing to have me, Chicgao. I love you and all your imperfectly perfect quirks.💋 Last pic was my first couple of minutes in my new apartment by myself. All my dreams were and still are coming true.✨ by @aidnicjen
