What I'm all about - in a nutshell. I am a bit of a nut.... Let me out of my shell! 😉 by @aitken.marion
Once again, back by popular demand, I'm selling fine art calendars featuring my paintings. The theme for 2027 is "Petals". This means lots of flowers, the occasional insect, and as usual, loads of colour to brighten your wall next year. Two sizes available: 8"x8" (hanging it is 8" wide by 16" tall) - $30 12"x12" (hanging, it is 12" wide by 24" tall) - $40 Order yours! Link in bio to place your order, or shoot me a DM if you want to skip the website ordering.  3 pick up locations to serve you better: 1)  Ottawa (Barrhaven), ON 2) Stratford, ON 3) London (Byron), ON by @aitken.marion
Finally catching up after three back-to-back weekends of art shows. Here are the pieces that found "forever homes." I'm so thankful for each supporter - whether you came to visit, cheered me on from afar, purchased anything - whether a card, magnet, print, or original! Thanks to @westendstudiotour and @westcarletonartssociety for the exhibition opportunities. These shows take an *incredible* amount of person-power to put on - so a huge thanks to all who played a part! Now I need to get busy now completing some commissions that have been awaiting my attention. #grateful by @aitken.marion
I was staring at this piece over the last couple weekends and it occurred to me that some stems weren't making sense. The image I used as reference was fairly dark, and I was in a rush to complete the piece for Art in the Park in June - so it didn't sit on my easel for the usual couple days of scrutiny. If I had started at it long enough, I might have noticed the stem weirdness that didn't make sense to me. So I adjusted things to be more to my liking. What do you think? #blackmushrooms #artcorrection by @aitken.marion
Grateful for all the visits, chats, new collectors, my incredible host @mchwialkowska and the fabulous weather at 2026 West End Studio Tour! #grateful by @aitken.marion
Just finished up this mini (3"X4") yesterday. These crazy mushrooms are real and inspired by some super cool photos by @cyanesense in NZ (keep up the stellar work, good sir!). Perhaps a nod to my kiwi heritage... #mushroomsofinstagram #mushroomart by @aitken.marion

The final piece - 13" diameter acyclic painting based on a photo by @fungiwoman (used with permission, and deep gratitude). I've called it "Purple Population". And yes, these are real mushrooms. What a glorious colour they are!! #mushroomart #mushrooms #purplemushrooms by @aitken.marion
