real friends nap together 🫶🏻 by @aiyanachin

My favorite use of free will is frolicking in magical dresses at stunning locations 😍

The best part of what I do will never be the photos.
It’s this moment right here 🥹
when someone sees themselves the way I see them.

Stay for her reaction 🥹❄️

Would you do this in the middle of winter?? Nothing says EMPOWERED like twirling in literal ice castles 💃

Some of my favorite people just turned 9 & 29, ONE DAY APART!! Can you say best birthday gift for a mom or what?! 🥹💙

Of course we had to celebrate in style with Aiden dressed up as a Kpop demon hunter and Aiyana rocking a flying dress to match 💃

And what better location could we have found for winter photos than literal ICE CASTLES 😍❄️✨

Minnesota women don’t cancel photoshoots for cold… we just complain the whole time and still slay 😂💃🔥

It’s Aiyana’s birthday week, I’m literally sitting at my desk just starting to edit these, and I couldn’t wait to post a little peek because ughhhh just look how flawless my best friend is!!! 🥹🫶🏻✨

Enjoy this sneak peek of my best friend FLOATING through the ice castles in a flying dress because some moments are too magical to sit on. Cold fingers, frozen lashes, loud laughter, and that glow that only gets stronger with time. Aging like a fine wine and fully aware of it 🍷✨

Her son was born ONE DAY AFTER HER, so birthdays are always a 2 for 1 celebration over here. Of course he was there for some ice castle magic too followed by their yearly birthday studio session. Oh how I love our traditions 😭💕

15+ years of friendship. She’s been my biggest supporter since day ONE of my photography journey, modeling, hyping me up, believing in me even when my photos were truly… criminally bad 😂😂 And she never once doubted me.

It’s her birthday WEEK (because obviously we don’t celebrate quietly over here) and there’s so much more magic coming SOON! Stay tuned 😉

another year older but still the main character 🔥

birthdays don’t have to be loud to be meaningful.
sometimes it’s candle smoke, quiet moments and being seen by the people who know you best 🥹

aging but make it soft.
aging but make it intentional.

aging, but make it cinematic 💃

The MMIW movement (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women) exists because Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people face disproportionately high rates of violence, disappearance, and murder. In the U.S. and Canada, Indigenous women are 10 times more likely to be murdered than the national average, and countless cases go unsolved or unreported.

This is not just a statistic—it’s families torn apart, communities grieving, and a system that too often looks away.

This movement is not an aesthetic, a backdrop, or a way to pad a portfolio. When non-Native creators stage “MMIW shoots” for clout, portfolio building, or profit, it reduces real lives and trauma into props. It centers the photographer instead of the victims, survivors, and their families.

That’s why it’s harmful—it turns grief into branding instead of honoring and amplifying the people who are actually impacted.

If you truly want to support MMIW:
• Work with Indigenous communities directly — let them lead the storytelling.
• Center their voices — not your own.
• Give back — donate proceeds to grassroots MMIW organizations.
• Educate — use your platform to spread awareness and resources, not self-promotion or profit.

Allyship means amplifying, not appropriating.

MMIW is not a photoshoot theme. It’s a movement born out of loss, love, and resilience. To exploit it for personal gain is to disrespect the very people this movement fights to protect.

Honor the movement. Respect the stories. Let Indigenous voices lead.

Posting for native women like my best friend @aiyanachin that deserve to be supported, not used for profit or clout.

This was a full circle moment for me.

This is me playing the teacher accompanying part along side my son as he learns from the same piano books I did as a child.

It was truly one of the most bittersweet moments. We got ice cream and boba at our favorite boba game hangout in Stillwater. Then, we got to serenade the place with our lesson and letting me get back into my classical pieces. Thank you Matt and Brooke for creating such a home for people, here. If you haven't, go check them out and count the ducks!

Boy, I wish my mother and my grandfather was here to see this. I wish they were here to hold me as I cried tears of happiness knowing full well, they both understand and would be feeling the same way.

Life sucks sometimes and takes the best people from you when you least expect it, but then you get moments like this, and it reminds me what I'm grateful for. I was blessed with the best kid. Being a mom is the best job ever.

Happy birthday my sweet sweet boy by @aiyanachin

We stand together. The fight isnt over. The riots are slowly stopping, the attention and media coverage is moving away, the attention seekers are all gone...and now it's just us. The fight is far from over. We will stand with our brothers and sisters til the day we finally see justice and equality. #wecantbreathe #blm by @aiyanachin
