32.

This year, I learned that growth doesn’t always look like chasing the dreams you’ve always known. Sometimes, it looks like having the courage to pause them.

I stepped away from the stage to embrace the greatest role I’ve ever been given — motherhood. And in the quiet moments of building a home, raising a daughter, and serving others, I discovered new passions that fulfilled me in ways I never expected.

This year, we built a home, not just with walls, but with laughter, late-night conversations, tiny footsteps, cat fur, coffee, and a table we pray will always have room for one more.

I also learned that being a wife isn’t just about sharing a life together. It’s about choosing each other, growing together, and building a legacy side by side, one ordinary day at a time.

Motherhood has stretched me in ways I never imagined. It’s made me more tired than I’ve ever been, but also more grateful than I’ve ever known. Watching Aleia grow has reminded me that the smallest moments often become the biggest memories.

At 32, I’m less concerned with proving myself and more committed to becoming the woman God is shaping me to be. A wife. A mum. A creative. A dreamer. A daughter of God.

I’ve learned that His plans don’t replace our dreams; they redeem them.

So here’s to another year of becoming more rooted, more courageous, more grateful, and more surrendered to the beautiful story He’s writing. by @aj.alingalan

Happy 6 months to our babygirl!

You’ve officially doubled your birth weight and grown so much. Every day you look a little less like the tiny newborn we brought home.

This month you’ve become a little foodie, learned to crawl (and immediately tried to skip to walking 🙃), slept in a way your dada and I have to keep checking on you, and somehow became the celebrity baby at church. To be fair, you’re the only baby there… but let’s not tell you that. 🤭

A big milestone for Mommy too! We’ve decided it’s time to wean. Pumping while working and trying to keep my supply up has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. From direct latching for 4 whole months to managing the logistics of pumping has definitely taken a toll on my body. There’s definitely some sadness, but also so much peace. Choosing my mental, emotional, and physical health allows me to be a better mommy for you. Praise the Lord because you are still one healthy happy baby 🫶🏼

Keep growing, sweet girl… just maybe a little slower for Mommy’s heart. Daddy and I love growing, learning, and doing life with you. Happy 6 months, our little sunshine. ☀️🤍 by @aj.alingalan

5.5 months with you 🦖

You’ve officially learnt to roll from back to tummy! Except… you actually skipped a step because before rolling, you somehow unlocked swim-crawling and now move around the mat like a tiny potato possessed. One second you’re beside me, the next you’re on the other side of the room and I’m wondering if I need to baby-proof my cardio.

You’ve definitely inherited your mama’s lungs because WOW, can you be loud. We’re deep in your little pterodactyl era — grunts, growls, squeals and coos at volumes I didn’t know such a tiny human was capable of. Honestly, if dinosaurs had babies, I imagine they’d sound exactly like you.

Bath time is still your favourite thing in the world… but heaven forbid we end it before you’re emotionally ready. The betrayal in your eyes. The screams. The drama. Give this girl an Oscar.

And we’ve officially started solids! Watching you discover food has been equal parts exciting and terrifying. You’re growing so, so fast, and I’m not sure my heart was prepared for it. One moment I’m cheering because you ate avocado, the next I’m mourning the tiny newborn who used to fit perfectly on my chest.

Parenthood is such a strange whirlwind - joy and heartbreak all wrapped into one messy, beautiful adventure.

We spend our days being yelled at by a very opinionated 5.5-month-old who drools on us, kicks us in the face, and somehow still has us wrapped around her tiny little fingers.

And honestly?

We’re having the time of our lives.

Love you forever, our little pterodactyl, speed-crawling, bath-time sweetheart 💛 by @aj.alingalan

4 months of Aleia (…a fashionably late post, again 😅)

You’re actually closer to 5 months now, but really… what kind of mom would I be if I didn’t post a delayed milestone update? 🤭

These past 4 months have been such a huge leap for both of us.

For me — going back to work, figuring out pumping life, only getting to latch you overnight or the moment I get home, and slowly trying to find myself again.

Your dad and I still lovingly debate every day whether you look more like him or me 🤍

Your naps are getting a little more predictable now (thank You, Jesus 😮‍💨), but nighttime? A different story 😂 As you learn to connect your sleep cycles, sleep has definitely become… interesting.

You still love sleeping in between Mommy and Daddy most nights, and while part of me dreams of uninterrupted sleep again, I catch myself peeking at you through half-open eyes, remembering just how fleeting this season is… and somehow, I always end up snuggling closer.

You’ve become such a little person 🥹

You’re SO strong during tummy time, so much more aware of the world around you, and absolutely love going out just to take everything in. The way your eyes search a room now… the way you recognise our voices the moment we walk in… it melts me every single time.

And that smile.
That smile is our absolute favourite.

You’re our favourite 🫶🏼 by @aj.alingalan

To the sunshine of our family @aj.alingalan, happy 1st mother's day my love~ You always inspire me by how much you love our daughter and continue to be a pillar of love, strength and faith for our family. I can never express how thankful and blessed I am to have you as my wife, my partner in crime, my forever food buddy and now mother to our growing little chubby chubs. You have gone through so much this past year and you still continue to radiate a warmth that our little girl finds so much comfort in. Thank you for your one of a kind gentleness and we love you very much ❤️ by @aj.alingalan
