This year’s dream project was Elvira’s Trick or Treat Mayhem (including its “radio station” companion piece) for Los Angeles Haunted Hayride. I had long wanted to collaborate with Elvira, Mistress of the Dark… and now, you can hear my show writing and voiceover work in her skits all over the event! (Her SKITS… I said her “skits.” Jeesh, wash your mind out with soap, will ya?) I play a myriad of monsters, creeps, and a very stiff Frankenstein.

I first became acquainted with Elvira the day my mom pulled me out of school early to attend a “Halloween party at a club,” as I proudly announced to my teacher. My mom recognized the rare opportunity to introduce me to an icon - how rad is that? - and Cassandra did a great job of helping that kid in photo two feel comfortable with the horror genre. As we chatted beside the Macabre Mobile, I never imagined I’d be part of her adventures further down the road. Flash forward to this full-circle Halloween: it’s a match made in Hellsubus, and she’s still got it.

Gratitude, always, to the leadership team at Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, who’ve trusted me with creative assignments for so many stellar brands and experiences over the last seven years. by @ajdanna

Submission call! 🎢

We are now accepting submissions for our all-new horror anthology SCREAM PARKS, edited and conceptualized by AJ Danna.

Synopsis:

What happens when the sun sets on your favorite theme park?

Does the chipper music continue to play after the gates are locked? Do the shuttered ticket booths keep guests out, or keep something else in? Can you peek beneath that smiling mascot head?

…Has anyone stayed behind to find out?

SCREAM PARKS is a theme park horror anthology exploring what lurks beneath the run-down rollercoaster, behind the animatronics’ glassy stare, and within the murky pool at the end of the rusted waterslide.

Each story must take place at a fictional theme park or themed attraction of your own creation, with the majority of the story occurring in the shadows of normal operations, whether the attraction has closed for the night or has been abandoned for decades.

And we’re casting the clock backward: each story must take place during or before the 1990s, the era often remembered as the golden age of themed entertainment.

Think amusement parks, water parks, carnivals, dark rides, funhouses, wax museums, zoos, piers, family fun centers, themed restaurants, seasonal haunted houses, and more.

In other words: less Dismaland, more Defunctland.

We are seeking FIFTEEN terrifying short stories.

Submissions are due March 1, 2027 at 11:59 P.M. CST.

🚫 NO AI ALLOWED. Submissions generated, co-written, rewritten, or substantially assisted by generative AI tools will not be considered.

Happy October! What a TREAT to share that I voiced several characters in the official Trick ‘r Treat haunted attractions, now open at Six Flags parks across the country. Principal Wilkins and Mr. Kreeg, heard here, were two of my favorite soundalikes… but keen ears may also catch me as a few others in the maze! Thank you so much to @audio_kyle @awkwardarsic and @classyafox for the opportunity to bring one of my personal favorite IPs to the parks for all of our fellow Halloween lovers to enjoy. When Kyle builds a soundscape, I’m always amazed - and with Allison at the helm, anything is possible. Stay tuned for even more announcements from my work on the RWS Global team for Fright Fest Extreme! 🎃 by @ajdanna

A truly chilling highlight of my Halloween 2026 projects was “Shipwrecked: Brace for Impact” at The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor. I provided several voiceovers for this new maze, where they echoed deep within the metallic underbelly the ship… including around the ship’s last remaining original propeller. Very eerie.

You can hear two of my characters throughout this highlight video by @vicecooler - reposted here with gratitude to @hollawoman @lvcrftofficial and @nightmaresoundworks for including me in this nightmarish soundscape. Can’t wait for our next auditory collaboration! by @ajdanna

Fourth time hosting the @boptothetoptour costume contest - but this time, make it MONSTOBER! 🧟‍♂️ @katiejomurph was right when she said Disney Channel + Halloween = AJ. Very grateful to be seen and included in these communal evenings full of people who love this stuff as much as I always have. In true Bop fashion, LA showed up and showed out in their Halloween finest! Thank you, Katie, for another opportunity to help shine a spotlight on them in style!

Magical photos by @_ashley_crichton_ ✨

PS: My costume inspo was Matt McGuire’s appearance in the October 2001 Zoog Disney Fresh Fright-Dayz marathon interstitials. A core Halloween memory for me, watched and rewatched many times on my VCR. Trick or treat! by @ajdanna

I LOVE a good shot-on-video Halloween throwback! 📼 Glad to have been asked to contribute my voice to this retro spot for @razorsinthenight__ Halloween Mayhem, an apparel sale where 100% of proceeds benefited Black Cat Holistic Rescue. My assignment was to match the sound and feel of The Magic Manor’s oft-shared Halloween commercial from the late 1970s/early 1980s - which ended up being surprisingly complex to recreate using today’s DAW tools. I’m very pleased with how it turned out in the end! Enjoy these retro vibes! 🎃 by @ajdanna

New Halloween Horror Nights promo just dropped. Recognize any familiar faces? Watch until the end! Grateful to forever be canonized on the Studio Tour… before meeting Art the Clown.

Halloween and @boptothetoptour - perhaps my favorite combo of the year. Monstober comes to life at The Regent in just over 24 hours! 🧟‍♂️ by @ajdanna

My first official Jurassic World project is live! 🎉 Playing in the famous sandbox Michael Crichton created decades ago… the one that inspired me so much as a kid, and one which continues to inspire today’s kids… was a dream come true. I’m so grateful to Universal Kids and @alexdaisyotto for inviting my very silly voice into this very silly story, created exclusively for a kid-friendly corner of the Jurassic World universe. Full video now available on Jurassic World Kids! 🦖 by @ajdanna

More elements I wrote for The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor - now featured on pillars aboard the ship! by @ajdanna

Hey, our voices are in this! 🧸 You can hear my dear friend @voiceoversuperhero and I in Scary Mary’s Dark Séance at The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor. You may also hear some additional dialogue I wrote for Mary in Lullaby: Teddy’s Revenge, the onboard maze you’ll experience right after the show. Scary Mary has long been my favorite Dark Harbor icon, so getting to bring her story to life alongside Bonnie has been a real Halloween treat - as working with @hollawoman always is. Stay tuned for more from my favorite night of Dark Harbor EVER!
