LEAP! That’s the theme of the year. Being a founder, I didn’t realize how much it would require me to speak. Well… I knew I would have to pitch my business and speak to customers, but I heavily undervalued the impact of what that word means to others.

At the top of the year, I told myself that you have GOT to get out of your comfort zone! 95% of the time, I am so uncomfortable when it comes to speaking in front of crowds because of self-doubt or thinking that I’m not far along enough to speak to others about what I’m doing and my journey of building. But I’m realizing that’s where the growth lies.

Over the past month, I’ve had the opportunity to speak to the attendees and pitch my business at the City of Birmingham’s Coffee & Conversations, be featured as a panelist for Black Leaders in Tech during Black History Month at the UAB School of Engineering, and speak to 100+ young men at Valiant Cross Academy about entrepreneurship, perseverance, and technology. They also took me on a tour where I was able to see their student entrepreneurship marketplace, where some students sell baked goods, fragrances & oils, and cut hair right on campus.

This is a reminder that no matter where you are in your journey… you’re valuable. And no matter what room you’re in, you always have something to add.🚀 #StreetEatzApp by @polarisbirmingham
