Yesterday we had the privilege to give back to the robotics community by sharing our program at Lake Elementary’s summer robotics camp!

We started off with a fun intro followed by a brief slideshow highlighting to the kids how they can continue their robotics career all the way through college and finally we let them drive the robots!

We want to thank Lake Elementary and their volunteers for inviting us to share, it means a lot to us to give back to our community and inspire the future generation of students! by @akronroobotics_zips

🚨VURC WORLDS 26🚨
Our program continued its history of excellence this past weekend by competing against the best of the best at the vex robotics world championship in St. Louis.

We went a solid 7-3 in qualification matches which earned us the 8th seed in the opportunity division which consisted of 41 of the 120 total teams at the event. After a close match against OBR in the round of 16 we moved on to the division quarterfinals where our season came to an end in a very fun and intense match against UCF.

We would like to thank our sponsors Polymaker, Onshape, and Schaeffler for their extended support throughout the season.

We would also like to thank and congratulate our seniors who competed in their last season. We wish them the best of luck in their futures. We would also like to highlight their legendary careers individually below:

Jacob Yost: 5x Worlds Appearances, 2x TC, 2x Excellence, 4x Design, 2x Skills Champion (44691X & ZIPS)

Kaden Carpenter: 5x Worlds Appearances, 5x TC, 3x Excellence, 5x Design, 4x Skills Champion (44691R & ZIPS)

Student-led innovation took over campus this weekend!

Our student engineers hosted 70+ middle and high school robotics teams for our first-ever VEX Robotics Competition, bringing serious STEM talent to UA.

Led by Akron Roobotics, the student-run team already earning national recognition, the event delivered hands-on engineering with multiple competition, skills and practice fields and strong participation from Summit County schools. From building robots to inspiring future engineers, this is learning in action. by @akronroobotics_zips

This past weekend a vision became reality. On January 10th we hosted the first annual Rubber City Rumble VEX V5 robotics tournament at the University of Akron. We had always wanted to do an event like this and this year we were able to make it happen. We want to thank each team that came out to compete and congratulate all who took home awards. We would also like to thank every program that provided fields. Finally a huge thank you goes out to all of our volunteers, without you this event would not have been possible. It has always been our mission to give back to the vex community and inspire students to continue in their engineering paths and this tournament was our way of doing that. We hope to see you all next year and we will post more tournament content soon! by @akronroobotics_zips
