Haven’t been on the rivers too much due to all the rain (much needed. Got out this morning and caught a few including the chunk with the beautiful stripes. The larger one was from a couple of weeks ago on The White. I’ve always said it’s more than the fishing — it’s the whole experience. I saw a bald eagle, deer — including some nice bucks, and wild turkey on the ground and roosting in the trees. Two great days on the flats of the Bahamas with @flatsbum73, Justin Lewis of @goombayoutfitters. Normally, when someone mentions the Bahamas, Bonefish are the first thing that comes to mind. Justin, showed me a complete different experience — we caught close to 10 different species of fish with several of them being targeted species for me. The only 🎯 species I didn’t bring to the boat was a Permit. I had plenty of chances and didn’t make it happen — that’s a story for another day. Got out on Sunday morning. The river was flowing and still high so targeted slower water. One of the reasons I fly fish is for the encounters with wildlife. This young button buck was playing with its sibling romping back and forth thru the forest, but he became very interested in what I was doing and walked into the water about 15 feet from me. Big moment for On the Stream!

We’re kicking off our festival run at the Mayfly Film Festival in New York on May 30. They have curated a lineup dedicated to stories of sustainability and our connection to the natural world.

There’s something fitting about our film starting here. The mayfly is deeply connected to water quality. When they’re present, it means something is right.

That’s what this film is about…paying attention and protecting what matters.
