The Future of Hairdressing Starts here ✨

Education has always been at the heart of everything I do 🫶🏻

Creating. Dreaming. Educating.
My team. Our industry. The next generation. by @alarah_academy

This haircut completely changed the way Ruby’s hair MOVES. 🔥

And it all comes down to where the layers were placed.

Inspired by the incredible haircut @philipforesto created on @shay.sullivann I truly believe the moment we stop learning, we stop evolving.

Thank you, @philipforesto, for inspiring me. 🙏🏻🤍

I was 15 when I walked into a salon as an apprentice.

I had no idea that one opportunity would change the rest of my life.

Today, I have the privilege of leading the next generation, and I never take that responsibility lightly.

Because right now, our industry needs apprentices more than ever.

At Alarah, we created our own Academy because we believe education builds confidence. Confidence builds careers. And careers build the future of our industry.

Every apprentice who walks through our doors is more than an extra pair of hands.

They’re future colourists.
Future educators.
Future leaders.
Future salon owners.

Across Australia, fewer young people are choosing hairdressing.

If we want to protect the future of our industry, we need to make it a career worth choosing, worth learning and worth staying for.

Because without apprentices, there is no future.

They are the future of Australian hairdressing.
What we choose to pour into them today will shape the industry we leave behind tomorrow. 🤍 by @alarah_academy

The most important part of any appointment isn’t the service.

It’s the conversation. 🤍

When a client feels seen, heard and understood, everything else falls into place.

Because every beautiful transformation starts with understanding the person, not just the hair. ✨

50 reps, as my sis @natalieannehair calls it 🫶🏼

The dream version of you isn’t built in the big moments.

She’s built in the repetition.
In the practice.
In the days you don’t feel ready but show up anyway.

One rep at a time.
One lesson at a time.
One step closer at a time.

Keep going.

Because one day, the things you have to think so hard about now will become the things you do without even thinking.✨

First team meeting of 2026 ✨
Leading with intention, not pressure.

The most powerful thing you can give a team is space.

One win.
One wish.
One word.

Reflection. Vision. Voice.
Because shared dreams create unstoppable teams.

Let’s talk about removing red pigment ❤️

This was the second process shifting @karlee_davis cherry cola into copper with no bleach 🥰

I was always someone who’d reach straight for the bleach to lift out red,
but this approach left the hair feeling so much healthier and really kept the integrity intact 🫶

Sometimes the scariest transformations teach you the most!

Colour corrections are always a favourite at Alarah ✨

Today we had Holly in for a stunning transformation crafted by @jesspuleio_alarahstudio

blonde ➝ brunette 🤎

Colour corrections can sometimes be a little tricky, but the key is in the prep.

👉 Always remember: fill the hair first. This ensures the pigment grabs evenly, creating a rich, seamless finish every time.

And of course, Wella Professionals always has our back when we need a colour we know will last and stay beautifully shiny ✨

Meet Livinia ⭐️⭐️⭐️

She first walked through our doors at just 15 years old, full of potential, and ready to learn. She began her journey with us as an apprentice, and today, almost 7 years later she stands proudly as one of Alarah’s colour specialists and one of our most inspiring educators.

Watching Livinia grow has been nothing short of extraordinary. From her very first foil to leading a room full of eager learners, she embodies everything we stand for: passion, purpose, and excellence. She’s not just part of the team—she’s part of the soul of Alarah.

At Alarah, education isn’t just something we do—it’s who we are. It’s the beating heart of our salon and the foundation of everything we create. We believe in lifting each other up, in learning endlessly, and in guiding every stylist to their own version of greatness.

Alarah Academy is where this magic happens. It’s where confidence is built, skills are sharpened, and dreams take root.
Step inside, and you’ll see more than just training—you’ll witness transformation.

Come along for a glimpse into an Academy day at Alarah where futures are crafted, and artistry is nurtured with every brushstroke, every lesson, and every shared moment.
