looking for the perfect UK staycation or city break? 🤎 put Edinburgh on your list!

we spent a few days exploring Edinburgh with Albie and honestly, Scotland completely stole our hearts. from beautiful streets and incredible architecture to cosy cafés, delicious food and so many places to explore with your pup, it was the perfect autumn getaway 🍂

Edinburgh was such a lovely city to explore with a dog, and we were ridiculously lucky with the weather too!

if you’ve been wondering whether you can enjoy a proper city break with your four-legged bestie, consider this your sign.

here’s our guide to a dog-friendly staycation in Edinburgh, from where we stayed and ate to our favourite walks and photo spots 🥹

we decided to take the train from London King’s Cross to Edinburgh Waverley with @lner, which took around 4.5 hours. It was Albie’s first ever long train journey but he was an absolute angel and slept pretty much the entire way! 🥹🤎

for our stay, we chose @thehoxtonhotel (this isn’t sponsored or an ad!! we paid for our stay ourselves) I did join their @dis_loyalty_ programme to access member discounts, which is worth looking into if you’re planning a visit.

the hotel was dog-friendly in pretty much all areas, apart from their restaurant Patatino. our room was on the small side but super cosy, and the staff at the bar were lovely. Albie particularly enjoyed people-watching while we sat down for a drink.

overall, it was a great base for exploring the city with our little sidekick!

save this if you’re planning a dog-friendly trip to Edinburgh. 🤍

Edinburgh is one of those cities where you want to wander down every little street, admire the architecture and see where the day takes you. we walked from the west end all the way up to the castle, taking in the beautiful streets, gardens and views along the way.

we were so lucky with the weather, and clocked up around 20k steps on our first day!!

poor little Albie’s legs were absolutely shattered by the end, and his dad had to carry him for a while 🤭 we should have considered bringing a dog sling for when his tiny legs need a break.

Edinburgh has quickly become one of our favourite cities, and exploring i by @albie.themini

A very spontaneous Cotswolds escape 🤎🌿
This trip wasn’t actually planned at all 🥹 our flights to Sicily were cancelled last minute, which meant we couldn’t go and visit my family, so James found the sweetest little farm stay in the Cotswolds and we decided to make a few days of it.
And it turned out to be such a gem! Countryside walks, beautiful villages, pub dinners, farm breakfasts and lots of new friends for Albie 🐑
We’ve been to the Cotswolds before, but this trip made us fall in love with it all over again and travelling with Albie made it even more special 🥹
Saving all our favourite dog friendly spots here for your next countryside escape 🤎

Not an ad or gifted stay | we paid for everything ourselves, we just loved it and wanted to share!
