WHY I coach - I was asking myself this question recently. It’s not the first time I’ve asked it, and in my books, it’s a great question to return to, in any profession or really any endeavour we take on.

What I want for myself, and all my clients is simply, if not easy:

TO CREATE A LIFE LED BY GENUINE DESIRE

* Genuine desire = soulful desire. A heart based commitment. What really matters to the soul and psyche. I’m not talking about the small desires dictated by our mood that day, or even a promotion that would make our life a little better and easier. But the kind of desire that will reside hidden in our hearts for decades, until we meet it. The kind that moves our soul into activation and participation with the world around us.

On the surface, that might look many different ways - a particular business, traveling, a romantic relationship or something else - but likely what we’re actually after is the experience we think it would create. Genuine fulfilment only comes from the scary act of moving towards genuine desire, which often requires we step outside the realm of daily preferences and comforts. A transformed and intentional life requires our courage to first name our desires, and then the willingness to face our faces along the way.

What desires are you holding onto that have been too scary to act on? by @alex.campbell.coaching

Wisdom in the park, in Yakima Washington. by @alex.campbell.coaching

Many of us, myself included, fall into the trap of using many forms of pleasure, including sexual pleasure, as a quick and easy access to relief, ease or comfort. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that, but when it becomes habitual, or the main motivation to experience pleasure, we accidentally trade our bliss for a bandaid.

One of the things I practice in tantra, and teach to my clients, is the artful and intentional use of pleasure. To not only expand our capacity for enjoyment, but to learn the art of using pleasure as a medicine. That way, pleasure and self connection becomes not just a source of relief from our suffering, but a literaly anitdote to the underlying pain. And the side effect? Life starts to taste much sweeter. by @alex.campbell.coaching

When troubles arise, it’s easy to focus on what the other is doing wrong, or to look inward at one self (how am I the root of the problem?). Sometimes though, the shared space between you and another can hold a life of its own, and can be a powerful place to instigate change FROM.

There is an inherent shared responsibility in this orientation, which allows for synergy and honours both the parts and the whole.

If you want to create change in your relationships, sometimes you must take responsibility for your own patterns and behaviour, sometimes the other has their own work needing to be done, and sometimes an easier and compassionate entry point to hard conversations is looking at the shared space between you. What do you see when you look at the 3rd space? by @alex.campbell.coaching

January February + March have been and continue to be “behind the scenes” deep work months. Taking on new trainings, and upgrading the old. I’ll be more active here moving forward. I’m excited to share more about my work and the new ways I’ll be working with folks moving forward. by @alex.campbell.coaching

We have one scholarship seat now open for our workshop April 22nd! This is for one free seat for an individual who feels called to this work, but is currently finding the cost to be prohibitive. DM to apply, and briefly share what’s calling you to this work. ❤️
