A much needed break with my best friend after @donnerpartypicnic and a year of going nonstop. Now I have a sunburn in unusual places and it’s worth it.

Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Throw some essentials in your @biltwell bag and take the ride you’ve been dreaming of. #fuckthisletsride by @alexarohn

You missed a hell of a clown show last night but the party is just getting going friends! Not to late to get out to Greenhorn Campground for the fun 🤘

About to hit send on the first small run of issue 03, and then pray to the goddess of indie publishing they get here in time for back to back weekends in So Cal mid-June between @ridetothewarehouse 10yr & @bornfreeshow 😂🫣🤘

It’s gonna be close. I still haven’t seen the print proofs, they get here later this week but I don’t want to wait🤞🤞

If I won’t see you IRL in June to get issues 03, I’ll have the website ready for mail orders later this week 💕 by @alexarohn

Final chapter in making the unicorn for Unicorn Palace at @libfestival , a handful of little pieces at the end to be done onsite. Wouldn’t fit in my car otherwise 🫠 by @alexarohn

Bees galore. Honeybees of course, and the bombas & othr bumblebees are majorly partying in the western redbud blooms. I saw so many native bees today 🤘 by @alexarohn

At the 1st @donnerpartypicnic I had this harebrained idea that I had to make a Lolita clown dress for @fromearlier. They already had one, I wanted it to be 10x better.

They had hacked a lil synthetic party store dress in true showgirl fashion but we knew that thing had a shelf life.

This one I expect to last as long as Bubbles does.

It took a full year, and we birthed it out just in time for Donner Party Picnic 02 🤘

Pretty sure at least half that time it was just a cat bed, I walked away a few times for weeks or months when it got too much for me (and in a few instances I needed to finish my class on drafting pockets and sleeves to keep moving forward).

One of the first things I drafted from scratch & sewed start to finish with just a pencil and paper to guide me.

I’ve been in those showgirl trenches and have worn costumes that made my eyes water with how uncomfortable they were. Tried to make something badass but comfortable.

This baddy is all cotton exterior with a light rayon lining to keep the tulle & horsehair off the skin (and away from any sparkly bits it may snag on).

It’s huge, fluffy, kind of heavy and comes off faster than some dimestore lipstick.

I’ve already got plans for when she comes in for repairs, 007 style, I’ll be sending her home with more black light trim and an ejection seat or something next time I see her 👏

Seeing this dress onstage on one of my favorite performers of all time was a soul fulfilling experience. I couldn’t be happier. I’m proud of this fucker. Very much so.
