At Brent Biennial this afternoon with my (co) partners 🤖 💕 🍄. Myco (re)mediation (2025) stages a machinic encounter mediated by both mycelial and artificial intelligences.

At its centre is a functioning Martha Tent, a climate-controlled growth chamber that provides mushrooms with everything they need to fruit: humidity, oxygen, and cycles of light. Inside, living mycelium develops in real time, its activity becoming part of the installation rather than merely a material for it. Alongside this living presence, an AI-powered interface offers an LCD display of speculative text, streamed as if from the perspective of the mushrooms. The tent thus becomes both a site of cultivation and a stage for dialogue, where vegetal and machinic agencies co-exist with human viewer-participants.

AIR Ritual is the fourth and final iteration of the 2025 Brent Biennial, taking place 17 - 24 October at University of Westminster (Harrow Campus) and Northwick Park Hospital. AIR Ritual turns our attention to breath, dialogue, ideas and exchange.
